I am at work so can't look in my book. But I have freezer book from the 70's where it says you can freeze eggs.
I will look later for you when I get home.

Hi everyone
Sorry if this is a silly question, but I've just found 6 eggs lurking at the back of my fridge that I had forgotten about, so have been wondering how to use them up.
Unfortunately the best before date is tomorrow, and as much as I like them, I don't think I could eat 6 eggs in 24 hours, so.....if I crack them into a tupperware box or something is it possible to freeze them?
Thanks!

I know you can freeze egg whites. Not sure about yolks.
TBH I don't follow best before dates. If my eggs are fairly old I put them in a jub of water to see if they are still fresh, it's not as if on the stroke of midnight they will go off because of a date on the packet. If eggs sink they are fresh and still ok to eat. If they float then chuck them away as they have gone off.
You could alternatively make something with them, a cake and freeze that.I have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks

I normally make a batch of pancakes and freeze them when I find eggs which need using up.0

I have used eggs WAY past the best before date before, I’m talking weeks!
Best before is just that, they are best before this date but are still ok after the date given.
Best way to tell if an egg is still ok is to put it in water, if it sinks it's still good, if it doesn't reach the bottom and is floating a bit then it's gone off.

When I get a freezer I plan to make some cheese omelettes to freeze.0

A company I worked for had a lady called Joan Deake, who did the catering, she invented three culinary delights, the Fag ash and ham sandwhich, the jam free jam doughnut, and the microwaved frozen cheese omlette... all were pretty bad, but not quite as bad as the vending machine they replaced Joan with.My Mind wanders, if found please return.0
