Mobiles.co.uk Cancellation Policy

Had an iPhone on Friday from Mobiles.co.uk and don't like it for a number of reasons. Prefer my current Blackberry

I have inserted the sim card so I could see the phone and its features but not used it to make any calls, texts etc

Can I cancel or not as I have now noticed that it states on their website that using the phone or sim means acceptance of the contract?

    14 days

Ok cant post link to mobiles co site - if you go their site under customer services - see Returning phone guide

PS - Sounds a bit strange to say you cant return if you have used the sim - how else do you find out you dont like the phone.

Worst comes to worst - get another contract elsewhere for the blackberry and flog the iphone on ebay or something and make up your loss.

Or within 14 days, you could exchange it for a different model - blackberry from mobiles.co.uk and flog your exisitng blackberry.
  • Cheers. I did read the info on their site but need clarification on this

"Ensure the Sim/Handset/Free gift has not been used (use signifies acceptance of your contract)"

How can you decide if you like the handset if you don't try it. Plus when you turn the phone on it asks you to insert the sim before you can access the phone.

Their site says if you are not happy with your purchase you have 14 days. One of the ways to find out if your happy or not is to try the item isn't it?

Update - Dropped him a PM and nothing

Called their customer service line and after waiting the said hour to be answered spent another 20 minutes trying to sort my problem out. Then got transfered to returns who agreed to my return only to put me back in the queue to C/S for over another hour.

Returned the phone in the 3 day period they requested by special delivery and heard nothing what so ever and no sign of my refund for the handset.

First time I have ever used this company and probably the last.

What amazes me is they have time to spend on here but should be manning the phones as waiting hours to get through is costing people their hard earned. Either that or provide an 0800 number until your sickness issues are resolved

If the mobiles.co.uk rep does happen to see this post can you let me know when I can call again to chase up this matter and not have to use half a day of my time and run up my BT bill?

I cant suggest anything - it all sounds like a horrible experience.

But at least you have managed to send it back Signed for - royal mail should provide proof you have returned it.

In meantime if you still have the energy - you can complain to http://www.consumerdirect.gov.uk/ - in my opinion mobiles.co.uk owe you compensation (not just refund).

Have just seen this number on mobiles.co.uk web site 01923 80 44 44 for customer complaints - at least its not 08. Maybe someone can be bothered to pick that up and respond to your complaint.

    Keep the thread updated.
