I've always been blocked from upgrading my accounts online, but my girlfriend WAS able to. I think the difference was that when we opened the accounts I got a slightly lower version of the a/c than her - she got a "plus" or something which paid higher interest (no monthly fee, no insurance etc) - but I couldn't because I didn't yet have a regular income.
That was the only difference between our accounts (we opened our original ones in the branch together at the same time). Maybe others have Plus or not and that's effecting what happens online.0 -
I went inro a branch today, and changed two classic accounts into vantage ones (*) - it took about 5 minutes, and they didn't try to sell me anything (but there was a big queue behind me). The counter staff said they had no idea why doing it online had been stopped.
(*) well they said they had, but is there any way of checking on the online pages that they have changed type as the accounts look the same to me?
The name Vantage should appear on the summary page.0 -
I have two Vantage accounts, one converted from Classic a couple months ago and a new one about 3 weeks old, applied for online. I see now on my Account Overview page a link "Set up another current account to help manage your money". This seems new. By clicking this link, by just stating my employment status (now what the hell did I tell them before :rolleyes:) I'm wondering whether if I sucessfully get another Classic account, I can then easily upgrade it to Vantage as simply as I upgraded my original one? with a few clicks?0

sorry I don't know what you mean by the 'summary page' as that isn't one of the options I can see.
The only thing I can see is the 'nickname' of the account - which defaulted to 'classic' when the account was created and did not change when they changed the type (maybe if it had been created by them as a vantage account it would have defaulted to vantage?); and of course the nickname can be changed by the user.0 -

Not being able to upgrade the account seems to be happening (to us) on both classic+ and classic accounts.0 -

Well.... Mrs thepearce had a new account showing this morning and was able to upgrade it to vantage.... the default was silver something.....It's the other way around in fact - I have one account - well, it's joint, and Mrs thepearce has 2.
Not looking good for step 2......we'll see.

Thanks - it was the use of the word 'summary' rather than 'overview' in the earlier post that confused me.
This morning the account default nickname changed to classic vantage, so it must need the overnight processing run for that to happen.0 -
good for you - I'm now feeling paranoid about not being able to do it online.
Couldn't upgrade my original one online (despite now having opened loads in the brach)- I assumed it was cos I'd already upgraded it,earlier, to PLUS and there was no option to go from plus to vantage online.0
