WRONG - that's the way it used to work! -

Now when you try to upgrade an account you get

" Sorry we are unable to progress with your request
    space.gifspace.gif
139144 - Account Upgrade : Your account already provides you with the very best benefits and savings available from Lloyds TSB on a range of banking and other services.
Click on any of the left hand menus to continue.

    "

Looks like they are changing things and haven't yet got the web site modified to give sensible messages.

it was when I phoned about this message that they told me that things changed last friday (and at that time the info was still filtering through the help line staff).
Yes, you're right about what you get when you try to upgrade an account.I tried to upgrade the Vantage accounts (just to test it and see if it would do anything) but it would not allow it and referred me to a branch.

Well in that case it looks like the online door has finally been closed and bolted which doesn't surprise me seeing how easy it was to take advantage of the situation.

Poster #10 seems to be able to do it online so it can't be the same for all.

Yes, STEP 1 complete, but will it permit STEP 2, the upgrade part ? We'll have to wait and see.

Ah yes I see what you mean.

The thing is that i have appleid for two or three of these accounts online and Lloyds haven't acknowledged the applications one way or the other. So I phoned them and that's when they said there was a limit of two accounts. The lady I spoke to went off to speak to a supervisor who confirmed the new dictate that only two are allowed.

My 7th last wednesday was acknowledged just as the previous one was and the account is now fully funded, done by an internal transfer last friday.

I wonder if Mr Pearce above already had 2 accounts and Mrs Pearce didn't which is why her application so far has been succesful ? maybe you could come back and tell us ?

It's the other way around in fact - I have one account - well, it's joint, and Mrs thepearce has 2.

Not looking good for step 2......we'll see.
  • Thanks exell 1966 I applied yesterday for my 2nd using your instructions
It still works, I have just transfered in £10. everthing working fine.
Can I just confirm is it ok to transfer the necessary £1000 from vantage 1 to vantage 2? Do I have to leave it there for 24 hours,

AFAIK it can be transferred and then immediately removed as there is absolutely nothing in the T&C's to suggest it has to stay, but for added peace of mind I keep my £1K overnight, then move it into the next vantage account.

I went inro a branch today, and changed two classic accounts into vantage ones (*) - it took about 5 minutes, and they didn't try to sell me anything (but there was a big queue behind me). The counter staff said they had no idea why doing it online had been stopped.

(*) well they said they had, but is there any way of checking on the online pages that they have changed type as the accounts look the same to me?
