Tell them you're a student - they couldn't get away quicker then ... works for me (even though I havent been a student in 20 years haha!)0

It's a numbers game. If you knock on so many doors and speak to, say 50 people, 1 person may express an interest in double glazing. If you then arrange to give these interested people a free quote, about 1 in 5 will buy. So you've just got to speak to about 250 people to get a sale.

An easy way to get rid of them is to tell them that either
A> Its rented
B> Council
C> Housing Association
They'll have nothing to say.0 -
Or just tell that you never buy anything from somebody who has to knock on doors to drum up trade. If the product/service was any good they wouldn't have to resort to such tactics. A simple leaflet through the door should be good enough. What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0

reallity is that the best part of 30% of the business still comes from leaflet drops/cold calling.
still theres more red tape coming next year and a great opportunity for people to raise issues like this during the consumer awarness week (starts setember 14th I think).
sashman,Buying quality goods which last, should be an investment that saves money. :T
Buying cheap products which fail, wastes money and costs twice as much in the long run. :mad:0 -

That'll be the 30% of the adult population who don't have the internet, which is mainly the elderly:
