  • I know that many people who don't pay their TV License and continually get away with it, it is unbelievable. I wouldn't call a 0844 number, I would put the money in a jar each week/month and when they come knocking show them it is there and tell them they couldn't fit in with your plans to pay it. I believe they will go out their way to avoid taking you to court. My friend in a block of 6 flats has asked her neighbours and only one has a TV license - and that is free because she is elderly. My friend gets letters EVERY week addressed to the previous tenant warning him that they will be visiting, but 3 years on, not a thing !
Companies I have had problems with -
Time; Evesham; Gordon Lamb; N.Power; Safestyle; Lycos; Daum; Consumer Voice/CCB Fastmap; BT; Chard, Homeserve (plumbing insurance that solves your emergency but leaves you with the initial problem); Sony.

Ask to be set up on the cash plan then you can pay £5.50 a week.

Plus dont call them on that 0844 number use 0117 302 1838 or 0800 9171490 more cost effective.

If you pay quarterly you don't have to pay upfront but it does cost an extra 50p per month.

You do not need a license for watching iPlayer.
