    Morning all,

Nice and sunny today here, although cloudy so am sure there will be some rain at some stage in the day.

Meant to be off to Kerry this morning, but its not happening....the father of one of DD2s friends died yesterday so she wanted to at least see the family before we headed off, so start delayed until pm....until we woke up this morning to discover that our car had been stolen during the night! No idea how they got in but even took the keys, on which is the key for my brother's front door, he is away at present so am terrified that they will break in there as he had a massive burglary at the end of last year. Have cancelled the trip now as not sure what the story is re replacement car, know that I am entitled to one after an accident, not sure about robbery.

Feeling a bit sick obviously, if I could get my hands on the barstewards they would suffer!

    Have a good day all,

    Marie

Marie - What an awful thing to happen (hugs)x
I think it depends on your insurance policy whether you get a replacement car, OH's ins gave him a courtesy car for a while.
We were burgled a few years ago, we were out in my car, which we never do usually, and OH's keys were in the kitchen so they stole all our stuff and drove off with it in our own car....cheeky blighters.....
Must say though the Birmingham Police were excellent they kept us informed all the way through.
They caught the thief and he ended up inside as he had previous convictions.

But we were lucky, there are so many horror stories about people getting beaten up and robbed. There was no damage or mess anywhere except a broken window, which is why the police thought it was professionals rather than kids.

Sorry about the ramble but hope all works out well for you like it did for us.

Meanmarie - that's just so awful! What a horrid shock for you all. Hope you can get something sorted quickly.
Pippa.S hope your niece's wedding is great.
Weather here best it's been for several days. Washing drying nicely on the line today.
Need to go shopping this afternoon for cheapish printer/copier/scanner for my office space. Am also slowly clearing the tut that's built up in the bedroom!
Hope you all have a good day.

    Good morning,

I started early this morning (may as well when you are woken at 6am or earlier). The boy has been complaining that he is scared to get out of bed in his bedroom, so by 9am, I had rearranged the whole room, and cleaned it. We then went to buy a comfy cushion for the corner which he has designated as his story corner.

My lovely son is just eating the last cake, so we may have to do some more baking this afternoon. I still need to clean my bedroom, and then we'll probably walk down to the beach for some fresh air.

Marie, I don't know what to say really, so just hugs.

    Take care all of you.
  • Oh Marie I am so sorry to hear your news.

I know nothing can make you feel any better but wanted to send a hug anyway.

To be frugal, you need to spend money wisely, simply spending less is not enough.

    Afternoon peeps

the sun is shining here and all my washing has been done, most of it is dry only the last lot still outside now. I`ve also managed to get the grass on both the front and back garden cut so everything looks nice and tidy.

I`ve pulled up all my beetroot :D i have some normal sized ones and some which are absolutely huge  i have a 6.5 litre slow cooker and have managed to get 5 in there, some more are in the pressure cooker and the rest will have to be cooked later or another day. I`m really impressed as i didn`t expect them to do as well as this.

I`ve seen a friend whilst walking the houndies earlier that i`ve not seen for a while so i`ve been invited out for a drinky poos tonight, that will be a nice change although i can`t really let my hair down as i`m at w*rk tomorrow - still the change of scenery will be nice.

Meanmarie - how awful, i hope that everything gets sorted out soon and that the people are caught. This sort of thing really makes me mad  ((((HUGS)))) for you and your family.
A few years ago someone tried to steal our car and as you know i work some strange hours so i was up when everyone was asleep - i`m afraid that i just let the dog have em! never saw them again.

I`m off back outside to do a little bit of pruning and then i really must do that shopping list that i`ve been meaning to do all day :o DH in a supermarket with no list would be a disaster.

    Enjoy the sun guys

Planning on starting the GC again soon :p

    Afternoon chums ,
marie how awful for you .I'd cut their hands off when caught .I had my taxi stolen once years ago and I know how aggravating it can be.Plus of course it meant I was off the road and out of work for a week until it was found.
Well today I have done very little .Did a small load of washing and its in, dried, and waiting for me to iron this evening.Done a bit of kniitting but had a snooze as well as I have a bit of a headache.Just taken a couple of tablets and hope it will clear up.Although the weather is warm, its very humid and I think thats whats making me headachey.Need a bit of rain to freshen things up a bit. I thought we were supposed to get some on Friday night but it was barely a sprinkle.I live on the edge of east Kent by the Medway river and the rain clouds seemed to have passed us by.
I must make two anniversary cards tomorrow for my two DDs as its their anniversaries this week.
Got the keys to our holiday home this morning through the post only 13 more days to go until we are off to the Isle of Wight for a week.
My DGS Danny has got two days filming with Jason Statham next week, he does extra work at times, and gets phoned up out of the blue. Its not regular but the money is quite handy for him.
My youngest DD has just got a new job with Natwest starting in September .Just what she wanted, Thursdays, Fridays and half day Saturday. Fits in nicely with the children.I can do the school run two mornings and my SIL can pick them up in the afternoon. Its only a six month contract but at the moment any job is worth its weight in gold with five children to feed and clothe . Her eldest Katie starts college in September, but she has been working hard and saving her cash. She is a lovely lass, and treated her Mum to a manicure on Thursday.
Well I'm off to sort out the craft stuff that's piling up on the sitting room table .Hope everyone has a good weekend
    Cheers JackieO xx
