    Morning Dots,

I think it's time to get tough with OH - it's not fair on you, it's not YOUR debt, it's both of yours debt. He needs to take responsibility as well. Maybe give him one of the debts and let hism 'look after it'. Ensure it's paid, and keep a check on the balance.

I really wouldn't get yourself worked up over the tax credit thing - there's nothing you can do about it until that day, so conentrate on the here-and-now. That you CAN do something about.

You know you can get yourself straight, so lets focus on the immediate payments that will get you straight. Is there anything in the house you can get on ebay? Look in the loft, the garage etc. Do a carboot this weekend if you can. Does your dad have to have the money back right now? Can he wait a month until you're on your feet?

Don't panic love, we'll get you there.
This year I'm getting organised once and for all, and going to buy a house with my wonderful other half. And that' s final!

thanks obi - you always have this uncanny nack of bringing a tear to my eye - which can prove a little embarrasing when sat amongs a floor full of people in the office - thing is with owing my dad so much money already i dont think its fair to him to wait another month - chances are if he knew the strife i was in he wouldnt pressure me to give it back all at once but i dont really want to open up to him to the extent of our debts.

I do need to do a list of the ones most important that need to be sorted asap, am going to try to tackle these as soon as - also going to leave tax credit review until the bitter end - think they have to have your figures by 31st july so will ring the very last week before - giving me another months worth of original payments to play with.

Thing is obi your right - i know i CAN sort this mess out - hubby did say why the heck did i not stay with the CCCS? but the thing is I have arranged so many things myself and know what i have to do - also trying to make higher payments where i can.

Was thinking of a car boot - we have so much stuff at home that could easily be sold - would prob take me a week or so to get it all together but im thinking of doing one - theres one on a sunday morning only about 15 mins away from where i live so that would be ideal. -

Thanks for the support - dont know what i'd do without you guys..

Evening Dotty haven't had time to catch up with you today.

I definately think you need to speak to hubby and get him on board as its much easier to fight this battle when two of you doing it.

I know what you mean about telling your parents. I had to speak to my parents about our debts as we needed help fixing one of our cars. It was awful as felt like a failure but they have been brilliant. Any money I have borrow I always pay them back.

Heres to a debt busting weekend.

    hi doodledoo and all,

Well if nothing else ive made myself very organised indeed, done a sheet with what bills need payingjune - end July and dates due, am toying with the idea of askin if ok to pay my dad half this month and half end of july - as my sums leave me nealry 1k short otherwise, if he lets me pay half im sure with a car booter that ive got rafts of stuff for and a strict tight food budget that i can make the shortfall up, just means 2 tight months but i feel very focused.

i'm thinkin of tellin my dad, in confidence of course, about the debts then maybe he will understasnd why im stressed and mooody half the time.

At lease i know where i am if nothing else, i also started a spending diary yesterday and have writtten down for the last 2 days exactly what ive spent and what on.

Also started saving my 20p's and copper in piggy banks.

Tiny steps in the right direction. :-)

Im trying to make £20 last me till hubby gets paid on Wednesday but im worried, DS has a cookery lesson so i need ingredients for that plus ive got a shopping ist of stuff - looks like it will total about double the £20 i have left - lol.

Was taking to OH over weekend - he reckons that we always seem to cope when we sre struggling and we should stick to a tight budget when we arent too - so we never have a month like this and the coming month again.

Got loads of stuff for a car booter, just need to cadge a paste table and some boxes to get all ma stuff together :-)

Go Dotty!!! What sort of stuff does DS need? Surely if you go to nettos it can be got cheaply, or if they only need a bit of something, ask the teacher if any other mums want to club together to get it.

Good idea on sticking to the budget in lean times and plenty - it's too easy to think 'oh we've money over this month, we can go a bit mad' and then find yourself short - we did that this month by going to the lincoln show - worth it but expensive!!

Good luck telling your dad - I think he'll be understanding about the money under the circumstances.

I've been in that positin £20 to last us a week when we first moved in, as we had to pay the removal people nearly everything we had left!! It's tough, but possible - just be really really careful!!

Hey obi - well it only has to last me 2 days really but the list ive made needs to be cut back on i think - im sure we will survive on what i can afford for 2 days dont u?

I also think my Dad will be ok, he generally is especially if i tell him im going to be maga stuck otherwise - he will only put the cash back in the bank anyway so i dont think another 4 weeks will pain him too much - i can but ask!

Hes only doing a fruit salad so im going as cheap as possible - only be a quid or so for ingredients but things have a habit of popping up at the wrong times dont they?

I AM going to be as strict as i can even after this month and next when things shouldnt be as tight - i hate being in this position !

    Morning Dotty.

Definately need to speak to your dad about paying the money back over a couple of months. I am sure he will understand and it will take a huge pressure off you too.
