Dottyanne, welcome back to DFW, I have read your thread on the Arms, I take it your Father is still living with you, are you feeding him, is he paying you rent at all, personally (I'm only commenting, cause I have read the thread, its time for him to go), you have got a lot on just now and with the extra pressure from your Father and your Mother/Brother, it will take it toll on you, you must make some time for yourself.

I have added comments in above, I hope they are not too harsh.

p.s. What do you mean by you anticipate a drop in income, and how much by?

Hi Merlot - thanks for your thoughts, I will try to answer as much as possible as follows:-

    Electricity............................. 70
Gas..................................... 100 (paying arrears = their cockup)- how much is outstanding on arrears?

    - basically was 1500 now 820.00 - couldnt get them to accept responsibility for supplying our gas althought they were charging me for 2 electricity meters - long story - their cockup but they wont accept anything lower than £170 per month combined gas/electric for current usage and arrears.

.Water rates............................. 70 - cor blimey? Are you supplying the Thames? - seems like it doesnt it? taking into accou nt 3 adults and 3 kids although the house is empty all day as we all work/go to school..

Already lowered contract on mobiles but tied into current contract until November.

Sky TV will prob have to go as you say.

Building and Contents insurance is cheapest combined i could get, followed Martins advice and got the Tesco deal saving over £15 per month :-)

TV HP loan ends June 2010
    Suite Repayment ends June 2009

Only 2 payments left to Tax credits for overpayment

Yes your correct about my Dad still being here, it does get very stressful as you can imagine.

Anticipate drop in income as both me and OH are paid basic plus commission, and with the credit crunch and being in sales we ar both experiencing a drop in customer spend, hence an inevitable drop in commission.

There is something not right about this monthly water rate bill, are you metered, if so, do you think you could have a leak, no way on earth should you be paying £70 per month if you are not in arrears. I would personally call the water company and ask them to check their meter readings with your actual meter reading and ask them about leaks, it could be a leak outside the property supplying your property hence the high bill.

Hi Merlot, I will do that thanks, i just assumed would be correct as on a meter and 3 bed detached house with 3 kids and 3 adults?

Things are going from bad to worse this month due to my own stupidity once again - that bleeding holiday and the neccesity to have one has meant im skint this month and will be next month too - why oh why am i so stupid?

Its all paid for in full now but its meant that im totally skint now until pay day which is 9 days away, 2 DD's have bounced and im behind on a few other bills too.

I am however, (i know its like closing the stable door after the horse has bolted!), saving vouchers with work for Travel Vouchers so next year we can enjoy a holiday at next to no cost at all.

My forward planning is great its just putting into effect that i struggle with, never seem to get in front !

    :-(

    Dottyanne,

I am metered with a four bedroomed house, 3 bathrooms, with 2 kids and a hubby and we only pay £30.00 per month (and the meter reading is correct as I get my water company to send quarterly bills so I can get an eye on this, we use to only get a annual bill) and I waste water, I am not all careful with the stuff, I water the garden everyday, its only small though, two showers, two baths a day (for all of us, I haven't got OCD:D )dishwasher on twice a day, washing machine twice a day, the list is endless, there is something wrong with your monthly payments....give them a call today, you may be entitled to a huge refund and that could help you out this month;) .Let us know.

P.s. Your not stupid, how can you be? your a woman:D I'll look at your other thread just now.

Mmmm - youve really got me thinking on this now - perhaps there is a problem as my bills do average around £70 pedr month - im going to telephone then and see what they say...

On another note, not that long till pay dy now - thank god coz were living day to day - fridge is empty and cupboards bare - should have just enough to get us by until then - really really need to get my stuff together - hate being in this situation - just seems no matter how much i try to plan in advance for things theres never the money there to actually act upon my thoughts and put the cash away. :-(

    Dottyanne,

Do you meal plan, it can really help when shopping and don't take the kids or the hubby shopping with you, if they are anything like mine, they shove things in the trolley when I'm not looking, internet shop and look out for the coupons for tesco/asda etc on the discount code thread, it has helped me greatly over the past year or two to keep my food bill down, cause I'm not seeing all those so called special offers.

dont usually take kids or hubby - thing is i dont even have enough spare cash at the moment to do a weekly shop and am finding myself living day to day and planning that way - still trying keep costs down and using vouchers and coupons wherever possible - what i know in my heart of hearts is i never should have booked a holiday we couldnt afford just because I wanted a break and needed a holiday - its left me feleing worse than any holiday for 2 weeks could ever make up for - put me behind on some payments and scrimping and scraping - and its not going to get any easier - prob gonna be like this until the end of July but even then all may not be well as i anticipate tax credits will go down so im just scared of the future tbh.

How does everyone else work out total debt etc? just based on balances left at time of writing?
