You really are going forward!! I still say that you should speak to them. Use your womanly charm. A letter is very cold and can easily be filed and a computer one returned saying this is what you owe and this is your rate, pay up. Hwever if you talk to a person and then maybe to their supervisor you may be able to get them to see your situation. They are only people and I think you have a better chance. It worked for me.
    All the best,

Hi CG , n Pobby n ms_london !! Thanks for your advice - was a bit slow today so i typed all the letters out, put em in envelopes n posted them - its not that easy making these kinds of personal phone calls in the shop as the phone is in the front and not very private - however - i will wait for responses from the ones i have written to and take it from there........I am slowly coming to terms with the fact that being miserable and worrying myself to death wont solve anything so im trying soooo hard to be positive and take each day as it comes - the good and bad!! At least I am trying and I want to be debt free - even if it takes me 4 or 5 years - ut of tiny acorns n all that!! anyhow thanks everyone and fingers crossed for me!! dotty xx

Yay @ you. Bet you feel a lot better now those letters have gone, dont you? I know I did when all my repayment plans wer set up. Helps you realise that things are getting sorted. Look back a month, and see how far you've come on.

How are things with the accounts, btw, or should I just not mention them and spoil your happy moment?
This year I'm getting organised once and for all, and going to buy a house with my wonderful other half. And that' s final!

Hey Obi - things with the accounts are still not sorted - OH rang the accountant and we are picking o4-05 books back up from him to go over again and then return to him as we cant just add things up without seeing them - he was ok about it so I will let you all know what happens with them in due course...

As for 05-06 accounts - they are all still not done!! well they are sort of organised and im gettin quickbooks and entering everything into them before submission to the accountant (but i still have time for this so no MAJOR rush on at the moment)...really just need to tie up the first lot then be a lot easier but im trying not to worry too much about this as they havent gone in to IR yet until accountant and ourselves are totally happy with them.......

I do feel better now the letters have gone off but will feel a lot more better if they actually reply with a favourable YES!! we can but try eh?

I seem to be getting somewhere albeit very very slowly and to tell the truth i really didnt know how hard it would be to try and stick to a budget and catch up and get sorted - it really is a long hard slog at first and some days you feel a lot worse off - im still constantly worrying about not having enough to cover DD's etc but i know that if i keep chipping away then life will gradually get better financially and i will be able to enjoy money instead of hating it as i do at the moment - that is really how i feel - money scares me tbh and i cant wait to be debt free and in control of my money instead of my money and debt controlling me:money:

Well some good news and some not so good 'scary' news - first the scary news - going over to the accountants later to pick up the 04-05 books that are a total mess - we have to go through them again as he thinks the figures are way out?? im scared of making an even bigger mess and getting all kinds of questions and in trouble with people i dont want to be in trouble with??

Ona more positive note got a date with CCCS for hour long telephone interview - ive decided the only way to tackle these are to try them - ive been trying a little too unsuccessfully to do things by myself and have asked for help before things get any worse? i felt releived when i had spoken to them and cant wait for the phone call....

    Hows everyone else going??
