Hello everyone - not updated for a couple of days.......had a major complaint with BT re our business broadband - basically they have moved the datre 2 times now when it's supposed to be going up to 8MB from 2MB - they fobbed me off with mutterings about engineers etc - my OH majorly suprised me - he took over the conversation and really complained - so much so that he just called me to say he had wangled 2 months free broadband for the shop - well done him!! just goes to show - if id have just accepted their excuse (as im lame!!) they wouldnt have done a jot - OH much more forceful than me has got this sussed!! need to take a leaf out of his book i reckon. Meanwhile Debitas keep phoneing re OH Capital One Card - i am NOT dealing with them and continue to deal with Capital One only? am i right doing this??

    Dotty,

right let me get this stright. Your debt was passed to debitas as you hadnt paid it on time. However at the same time, you actually make part payment to capital one. Is that right. So debitas are contacting you effectively on a debt that has been paid ?

Well the total debt is about £900, however we had letter from Capital One saying to make payment of £90.43 asap - we did when we could afford about 10 days later - in the meantime they mustave passd it to Debitas - athough Debitas have acknowledged that C One have received the payment of £100 they still want us to contact them? not sure what to do??

Have you spoken to capital one? What do they say about it? Surely if you paid the money they needed immiediatley then they shouldnt be contacting you. Id be speaking with C one about it, and see if you could come up with a plan, something like a fiver a week, or more if you can afford it. Id call them see what they say?

Well ive been a bit hiddeldy piddeldy lately with finances - as in not enough time on my own to actually sit down and have a good sort out - i think thats so important - especially when youre trying to get debt free!! Anyhow MY Capital One is about £290 now and coming down all the time - my Barclaycard is about £300, OH C/One about £950, his Barclaycard about £900........so at least they are coming down right??

We have been charged on these cards on many occasions and i really do think that were i to pursue getting credit card charges back from these people that my balances would drastically reduce. I am going to write the letter requesting a list of charges from 6 years or whenever the account was opened and see how i get on? anyone had any experience at getting charges back from Barclaycard or Capital One??

    Dotty,
Have a look on the consumeractiongroup.co.uk forum. Barclaycard seem to be dragging hells on it, but dont get despondent. one of the things that they do is take the tenner you have to pay for the statements back, and taking it off your balance. I wrote in my letter, if you take it off my balance Ill be talking to the Information Commissioner about it and Ill be complaining. Also they blah that the data is on microfiche ( which I dont buy for one second) and they cant retrieve it. bo***ks. Of course they can and its your data, so you will get it if you have to report them to the Information commissioner to do so.

    Just be strong.

Yeah you need loads of time to shuffle paper as a DFW, could you write in a morning a week to sit quietly and work on it, or at least a morning a fortnight when the shop doesnt need you- a queit time, say a tuesday morning?

Hows the ebay shop doing? Well i hope?

Hiya Lynz - do i have to send a tenner to each credit card company for details of each account? also, got a letter back from rbs about the £190 charges in 2 days and they wont refund me

I'm gonna have to try and allocate some time for these books - personal and business as im getting nowhere fast!

Shop doing ok - ebay not so great but its swings and roundabouts innit?

    speak soon Lynz..
