Thanks to everyone. Have managed to cancell a contract which would have become a bind. Silly question, though...what happens to the phone I got with it? Do I take it back to the shop?0

I've got 5 months left on an 18 month contract that I took out just before my OH was made redundant, it's £30 a month and I hardly use any texts or minutes but have made a couple of calls to 08 numbers recently.
Only trouble is my home broadband is free with the contract...not sure what would happen with this, am wondering if I went PAYG with Orange would they allow me to keep the broadband and pay the standard amount for it? (I think it's £7 a month if you're an Orange customer). Am doing an OU course so can't really get disconnected from the internet at all as I need it to submit work.0 -
do i have to have received the text message from orange to cancel my contract? surely the call charges and the change of them effect everybody with an orange contract?
thanks in advance for all your help0 -

Hi there, I am with orange for my mobile and broadband. I was wondering if it would be possible for me cancel my contract, carry my number over to a payg orange sim then get a orange contract in say a month (one with a free ps3 or something similar) I say orange as there the ones that have the best deals around that suit my needs and the free broadband saves me money too,
I know i'm just being cheeky considering doing this!
Thank you0 -
They've just told my friend this...
"4.32 the variations have been imposed on them and its been ofcom regulated so no customer has the right to cancel"
I'm highly suspicious of this but my friend doesn't want to argue unless he knows he has a valid point, can anyone shed any light on this?0 -

Sounds like BS to me.0 -
Am just trying to think whether it is worth me trying to blag a better deal rather than cancel the contract, as otherwise i'm going to be stuck without broadband... although my broadband isn't wireless and they only do wireless broadband now....hmmm0
