This is an interesting point. I assume that you're referring to PruHealth's fixed two-year moratorium, which is not available to anyone who has ever suffered with mental illness.
I can confirm that this does include minor cases of depression. So, if an applicant was once diagnosed with acute depression after a family bereavement, for example, they wouldn't be eligible to enrol on PruHealth's moratorium.
As to your broader query, you need to take specialist advice from a PMI broker. Commenting on your specific medical circumstances would constitute providing advice, which is regulated activity.0 -

It used to reward you with a cheaper monthly premium the more times you went to the gym.

PruHealth have scaled back their gym offer, but their members still benefit from a 25% discount at selected gyms. Aviva also offer gym discounts—up to 40%, depending on the chain.
You can earn 'Vitality' points with PruHealth by demonstrating your general health and fitness by a variety of means, including gym exercise. This provides the opportunity to earn up to 25% off the following year's premium.
Aviva's 'MyHealthCounts' initiative can provide a discount of up to 15%, but it's based on general health indicators (weight, blood pressure, etc.), rather than logging hours at the gym.

Steady on old chap—there's no need for insinuation. If you have a look through the silver surfer's posts, you'll notice that his language, sentence structure, grammar and punctuation are completely different from mine.You and he do seem to operate a mutual support team!!
Originally, I felt compelled to defend the silver surfer because I felt that he was offering good 'advice' and getting a rough deal in return. I didn't know at the time that he was using multiple identities and offering kickbacks to tempt prospective clients. Again, mea culpa. I've made my feelings known to the silver surfer.0 -
PruHealth have moved the goalposts.
I have been with them for nearly five years as a Platinum member and enjoyed very low premiums, very cheap gym membership (£15 per month in London) and other benefits.
I will not renew for a sixth year, because under the new rules my gym membership fees have increased more than fourfold; the 100% no claims rebate has been reduced to a maximum of 35% for a Platinum member; the cost of an annual screen has increased tenfold; and it is vastly more difficult now to achieve Platinum status than it used to be.
Under the original scheme rules it was a definite best buy for a healthy person who wanted to keep fit; now it is just another PMI policy.0
