Ebay now misleading customers: Buy It Now -Immediate Payment Required

That's the problem, the buyer does NOT know until afterwards.

If you don't understand this, there is no point discussing with you.

The buyer makes the decision & should have all information visible when they proceed to buy. Payment information is the most important.

It has already been explained that if you click on the Payment Details tab you can see whether Immediate Payment is Required.

As others have said it is visible before you buy it. You do not have to press BIN to know if immediate payment is required. You just look on the payment Tab. You have made an argument over something that you have imagined and now are trying everything not to admit you were wrong. Why do you have such difficulty understanding this?

Hmmm, surely BUY IT NOW means exactly that? you agree to purchase immediately? which means PAYING FOR THE ITEM????

yes when you click on buy it now it then takes you to the next page which states whether you have to pay immediately or not, but if you choose not to pay immediately, you don't actually proceed any further, it's not like you are then committed so I don't see how anyone is trying to fool the buyer?, you are only committed to purchase if you actualy pay straight away for the item?

as a buyer, when I see BIN's it doesn't put me off if any of them are immediate payment only, why should it? if I want to buy it now, I want the item.

You know if you walk into a shop and pick something up to buy, you actually have to pay for the item there and then, the shop assistant doesn't say 'oh of course sir, I'll put it to one side for you for a few days and you can pay when you're ready' do they?

On ebay the buyer does have all information visible before purchasing as you can't proceed to buy it now unless you pay there and then with immediate payments so until you pay, you're not committed, nobody is fooling anyone

I found it irritating when I wanted to buy 2 DVDs from one seller, I had to pay immediately but didn't realise so when I got forwarded to the paypal page I clicked back to buy the other one. (previoulsy on BIN I'd been able to pay it later) But of course it hadn't comfirmed the first one so I had to go and buy it again and then pay for each DVD seperately which was a pain. :rolleyes:

Immediate payment has only been around last few years, so you are wrong in saying Buy It Now equals immediate payment.

Buy It Now has been there long before it, when you pay afterwards.

You shouldn't have to click on the Buy It Now button to only then realise it includes Immediate Payment when you were expecting & used to pay later.

Buy It Now has never equalled Immediate Payment, so why should millions of users suddenly assume it does, just because a few say oh well nothing matters.

Anyone with any sense would realise ebay has done this deliberately to push people down the Immediate Payment route.

There's obvious benefits to immediate payment to all concerned I can't see why you think different or that just the people reading this thread are against you and the rest of the Ebay users agree with you.

well yes because immediate payment benefits everyone, the buyer as they get their item quicker, the seller cos they get their money quicker, ebay they get their fees quicker, hey! everyones happy:D
