Hmmm- another £100 I can't really afford gone on beautifying house and garden. On the plus side I shouldn't have to spend much more (apart from the HIP etc). On the down side I still have too much to do! No time to sort out where my money has gone on groceries yet!2019 fashion on a ration 0/66 coupons0

Might be a bit late but you could buy some herbs - chives and thyme have pretty flowers, rosemary and sage are evergreen I think. Herbs look lovely alongside French and English lavenders.Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0

Hiya Jellie
You have been busy with your greenfingers but hopefully it will help with your sale - kerb appeal and all that! I'm not very greenfingered but love to see a nice garden. OH does all that here (and I do the ironing!! LOL). You planning going on the market soon?

I'm hoping to instruct the agent today or tomorrow and he moves fast with photos etc so they are ready to go when the HIP is done. I'm still not feeling that well so trying to balance getting enough done with getting enough rest!!
I started going through my grocery receipts etc in my paperwork half hour yesterday. I've actually spent very little so far this month but have realised that lots of money that comes out of this budget in my brain is actually cleaning products, toiletries, house and garden stuff etc. Lots of things I buy in supermarkets does not seem to be food!
OH helped out by getting take out pizza last night and I'm basically trying to run down freezer and store cupboards to get through the month.
I've revised my budget to account for the pends on cleaning stuff etc. I will try and post a detailed list of spends soon for ideas on areas I can target to save on!2019 fashion on a ration 0/66 coupons0 -
Found your diary so will subscribe and read properly later after work when I have more time0

Sorry you are still not feeling too good. Hopy you be better soon.
The supermarkets have a lot to answer for now - what with selling all the nice household stuff, make-up, fancy shampoo, clothes, DVDs etc etc! It's good though that you have identified what you are spending on and you can try and avoid these aisles! I got really good bathroom cleaning stuff in Poundland - it's Stardrops bathroom cleaner, it's probably not any cheaper than supermarket own brand, but it is really good. I wish they would do a kitchen one but I haven't seen it.0 -
stardrops do just a general cleaner that you can use all over the house, i think i picked mine up in Morris0ns but you may be able to pick it up elsewhere as well. It lasts for ages and i'm sure it was less than a quid.0

Hi Yukkibear- all input welcome

Thanks Prim- problem with lots of stuff in the supermarkets is that it is a 'bargain'. The fact that I can live without things or that they'll probably end up at a charity shop doesn't necessarily stop me buying things!! I will look out for Star drops!
LemonTree- thanks for the tips. I will keep a look out for SD at the cheapest price when I run out of cleaner. I'm assuming from all the recommendations that it works as well as anything else?!
I'm thinking cleaning products and toiletries should be added to my 100 day challenge to only be bought when things have run out. I'm sure I've got plenty of duplicates hiding in cupboards.....in fact I might start sorting through a couple of cupboards now for a bit of an audit!2019 fashion on a ration 0/66 coupons0 -
I've had a quick look and have already found loads of duplicates, triplicates, quadruplicates in my cleaning cupboards. I can't do a full audit yet as there is a box in one of my cupboards with more cleaning stuff in that I can't get to without cleaning the cupboard out :rotfl:
Looks like I think I've run out of something and buy on 3 for 2 or BOGOFs when I've already got some stashed. I will definitely do an audit and not buy ant new cleaning products unless I've checked if I've already got some in the spares boxes!!
Seems like this could be one reason for ridiculous grocery bills! I've got at least 3 limescale remover sprays and I don't even use them!! :eek:2019 fashion on a ration 0/66 coupons0
