I'm going to rely on the kindness of you good people to tell me when this offer is about to expire! My savings are currently in a Halifax Guaranteed Saver Reward (6%) and will stay there till the end of November.
Don't want to open this now and waste almost 4 months with no money in it.0 -

That's exactly what I've done! :beer:
Was thinking about it earlier, and I can't see their SVR going below 1.25%, it seems unlikely assuming the base rate remains the same. So, maybe we'll get 3.25% for a good while to come.“I could see that, if not actually disgruntled, he was far from being gruntled.” - P.G. Wodehouse0 -
Is there anything to stop you opening more than one of these accounts?
Say, one a month for as long as they're available - in order to prolong the bonus period as long as possible.0 -

Not that I can see, go for it. If in doubt send them a message.“I could see that, if not actually disgruntled, he was far from being gruntled.” - P.G. Wodehouse0 -
Just opened mine today with nothing. I had a previous version that was 2.85% including bonus. This feeds an Egg Money Card that does most of my spending.
My first ever faster payment was to Egg. I had typed in the wrong account number so the benefit of increased speed was lost. The money was eventually recovered. Egg say they will credit faster payments at close of business hours. This seems to be around 5pm.

Hi,
I opened one of these yesterday. I sent £50 by faster payment from my Nat West Account at about 3.30pm yesterday and the debit is showing on my Nat West Account. I got the meassage your funds should be received by Egg today (7/8/09)
When I log into Egg, the balance is still showing as Nil.
Am I a bit early to make enquiries as to why the funds are not with Egg yet?0 -
@Andystriker
I suspect close of business on Friday is just that. They will not have another close of business until Monday. I will try and move a few £ myself over the weekend.
