    morning all!

a nice day here!:j had a late start as I woke with a thumping headache so took some pills and went back to bed, seems to be a bit better now, good job its my day off.
DH still aching but a lot better, not going back to work till Monday I think.

DonnyGal - weather in Ledbury has been lovely the last few days(been there twice) so your DS should be enjoying the Big Chill Festival.

    PP - hope you're ok x

Need to make a meal plan for the next week, havent done this for ages but have been spurred on by the economy gastronomy programme. Am off shopping this evening to Morrisons.

House clean and tidy, washing on.

Hope you all have a great day x

The OH said she is coming today, but as she does not really like boats, I am not sure if she 'really' want to come. The biggest worry is what she does when she wants a pee:rotfl:I mean blokes don't have isses with peeing over the side:rolleyes:

I know the answer to this one. It's a bucket and a blanket.......you need a helpful person to hold the blanket over you, then you rinse the bucket out - after all there's plenty of water :rotfl:

    :hello: Good morning!

Not much OS going on here this week as not feeling great so trying to get more rest than usual, but had to pop in to say

WELCOME BACK SMOKYBABE! We all missed you and wondered if you were ok. So glad to hear things are much better with the LOs. It's not surprising you're tired so be kind to yourself xx

jayward - Hope you had a good birthday!

Hope everyone who's not well feels much better soon.

All for now, it's much easier to read rather than post at the moment

    Morning everyone
Well I've done a fair bit of lurking on here and a couple of posts so thought I would try and join in with the daily thread. Think it might take me a while to get familiar with everyone though!
Well I had a minor op on my back on Tuesday, its been quite sore as haven't had chance to rest it looking after my 2 boys (aged 2 and 1). Today is the first day I have had no appointments or playgroups so just going to rest a bit.
I defrosted a £1 bag of Saino's basics red berries in the fridge overnight so will make them into a crumble for later. Never tried the berries before so will see how it tastes.
Mithering about getting my washing done as I am another in the "not sunny" bit. My washing got soaked outside yesterday, all my big sheets etc. Got my nappies to dry today. Well, not MY nappies, the baby's nappies!

So......i'm saving my water and electric, and am doing my washing at my parents!

    Hi there, :hello:

Another lurker surfacing here. Sorry to hear about the washing machine Alipops. Two months old! My, they build things to last these days don't they?

I'm a full-time working OS wannabe. Love the idea, but in the evening I'm just too tired to cook and end up shoving something processed from the freezer to the oven. I watched Economy Gastronomy on tv last night and was inspired by the 'bedrock' recipe idea. I know it isn't new, but I never get around to it so I'm determined to have a go next week. I may even do some batch cooking over the weekend and make my own frozen 'ready meals'.

My OS ways have really slipped recently - I haven't even made a sandwich for lunch today so I'll have to buy something. My breadmaker is gathering dust on the kitchen top. :o On the plus side, I have been growing courgettes and French beans and we have eaten some already - delicious! I will make carrot & courgette soup this weekend too if I get a chance.

I will try to post more regularly, to try to motivate myself.

    Hi all

    Welcome to all the newbies:D

    TGIF!!!!

Been a really busy week at work this week, but finished now for the weekend. :D

Got home to find DD (who has had swine flu all week) white as a sheet again with big black circles under her eyes looking shocking!! And this is the 4th day of her Tamiflu. She is back in bed again now, feeling dizzy and generally poorly. Poor love has had an awful week (it was her birthday Tuesday - showed her all the good wishes from you lovely lot and that at least cheered her up:A) She was supposed to be going away for the weekend with her boyfriend and friends as part of her birthday treat but that just isn't going to happen now. She can always go another week.

Weather here is lovely again today although it really poured down during the night, so wm on yet again. I suppose it is quite sad that when we have a lovely day now I always think of it being a good drying day rather than just enjoying the lovely weather:rolleyes:

Tea is going to be a raid on the freezer, not got a clue what yet but as there is so much in there that I can't fit another thing in, I am sure we will find something nice. Really am going to have to start using things up.

Wish we were going away in the caravan this weekend but needed to get some things done - one being my hair which desperately needs doing! and some other odds and ends so will have to wait for next weekend!

    Have a good weekend all

    Afternoon all.

Hopefully those with piggy flu and other ills are feeling better today.

Nice to see you back Smoky.

An easy dins again tonight, as Mr LW has (yet again!) requested pasta in cheese sauce. I'm hoping to feel well enough this pm to make an apple pie, as well.

Living room carpet is disgraceful, all covered in black dog hairs. I've been picking up the worst, but I may defer a proper hoover til Sunday, when Molly-Dog's humans come back from holiday and fetch her home. She's moulting for England, and didn't bring her brush with her this time.

I see a few people have mentioned having a headache today - me too! I wonder if we're in for another thunderstorm, as I usually get a headache when one is imminent.

OK, time to get off me bum and get the pastry on the go - see, posting about it has motivated me!:D

((((HUGS)))) to all who want/need one today.

Oh, and while I think of it, I hope Halight's twins get on OK at the hospital.

Nic - lots of (((hugs))) to your poor DD. It may be worth a visit to the doctor if you think she's not getting better. After four days, she should be improving, if slowly, every day.

Witchwoo, Taplady and Ivyleaf - I hope you all start feeling a lot better soon.

Welcome to Emmwri and Chikadee - hope you enjoy it here. Emmwri - hope your back is getting better. You have your hands full with two little ones!

Chikadee - don't beat yourself up trying to be all OS if you are working full time. It's not easy trying to cook from scratch after a long day at work. Try the 'bedrock' recipe, though, because it won't take too long. If you make it at the weekend, or on a day off during the week if you have one, you will soon see how handy it is to have something ready to finish off after work. Making in bulk doesn't take any longer than just doing one portion at a time; OK, there's a bit more peeling and prepping, but the time, convenience, and money-saving is well worth it. You're doing great growing your own veggies so you're already pretty OS, anyway! Also, although you won't feel like it, try making your lunchtime sandwich the night before, then it will be ready to take with you when you leave for work.

Well, I've done my big food shop today and was surprised by how much I got for my money. I bought enough meat for 13 meals; chicken, pork chops, mince, sausages and some stewing lamb.

Anyway, I'd better go and do something constructive.

    Afternoon everyone

Its been lovely and sunny all morning but gone dull now, hope it doesnt rain.

    Lunch was pork salad
Dinner will be chicken casserole ( OH's request)
Need to make some hobnobs got sidetracked the other day so they never got done,

Have just spent a couple of hours cutting bushes down and clearing the dead stuff out of the side border, loads of slugs and snails under the bushes  hate the things,
Must get the washing in its nice and dry now, and I dont want to risk it getting wet if it decides to rain.

Havent read through yet will do that later
