    Good morning,

I didn't post yesterday as I was "busy doing". I did the washing, line dried it and ironed it, then the boy and I cleaned and tidied the sitting room. The room looks presentable again, and the boy had lots of fun with the duster and polish. The boy made cakes at his nan's while I went to buy some new work shoes, and we popped out together for some fresh air in the afternoon.

Today I'm having my friend's daughter over for the day. The friend who was supposed to be my August childcare but is now back in hospital with meningitis. The poor kid's holidays must be pants so far, so I'm hoping to make it an interesting day for her. I also need to hoover upstairs and change the boy's bedding.

Smoky I've missed you. Hugs from along the coast!

    Take care all of you

Donny-gal - don't forget to back up the documents you scan (says she, who hasn't backed anything up for weeks and weeks!!)

Lesson learnt many moons ago, I scan them to one usb hd and then when labelled and foldered copy it over to another one.

Hoping the weather is fine at Ledbury, DS at a music festival there this weekend - sorry if you are local.

Just off for pedicure & eyebrows - can't see to do them without glasses, and can't get to them with the on:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

    Morning peeps
Rainy overnight here and the garden certainly needed it. Yesterday was sooo hot. Anyway, windows all open here and the smell of wet grass is coming in - lovely.
DH is managing fine back at work after SW. He is back to *normal* hehehe.
I'm a few days behind him and although I didn't have it as badly as him (and didn't take the tamiflu), I still get a bit tired. Still, it's only a week ago today that I came down with it. I did a bit of cleaning yesterday but did it in stages and then rested and today I won't do much at all. If anyone here does come down with it, or has rellies who do, it seems to take the stuffing out of you afterwards!
DH ate out at a work lunch yesterday so didn't fancy tea last night. I made myself a salad. Tea tonight will be something to do with sausages as I defrosted them yesterday. Will still have to tackle the freezer at some point. Yes, I still haven't done it:rotfl: . Thanks for tips on quick defrosting.
Plan to fill a charity bag with a bit more decluttering of my main T shirt and tops drawer. It's a big drawer but it seems to be jam packed. I had a big clear out last summer under DD's beady eye but I think I need another one. Life seems so much easier when you have fewer things (but I know that the reverse is true and life is very tough indeed if you don't have enough).
Goodness, profound thoughts today. Off for tea and toast (and lovely home made apple and blackcurrant jam made by my friend's son!).
(((hugs))) to those feeling unwell, sad or troubled.

Morning all.Didnt get on here yesterday as DB and D little niece came.We had a lovely time-we dont get as much time together now she's at school. We pegged the washing out, then we made double choc muffins, and she picked salad from the garden, then spent ages washing it in the salad spinner. She didnt like my new one I got from Lakeland, but I pointed out that it was better than the old one as it has a brake. That swung it.Then we went on the little park across the road and had a picnic.

Didnt have much time left after they'd gone, just a quick tidy, then I had to get tea ready, tuna steaks from Aldi, pan fried in sesame oil, finished with lime and coriander, with stir fried veg.Clean plates all round, and very quick to do.

Bedding is in the washer as its nice and breezy here, but sunny so should dry quick. We are out later so probably salad for tea.Hope you all have a nice day/weekend,and poorlies are recovering.x

Lovely to see you post Smokey.

Well, the children absolutely loved their night in the tent despite the rain! Have told DD she can have a friend to stay in it on Saturday if the weather is decent enough. I don't normally do sleepovers, can't cope with the noise and lack of sleep! However, if they're outside it shouldn't effect me.

Today we are seeing a friend and her children who have been away for a couple of weeks. Got a free game of bowling booked (courtesy of last weeks Woman magazine that had free coupons for bowling in), so thats some free entertainment. Then we'll probably come back here for a gossip, so might make some quick and easy fairy cakes, as got nothing to offer them otherwise!

    Weather still looking miserable. :o

    Have a good day all.
  • Morning all :)

Carpy day here so far weatherwise and I still feel like pooh, not sure what I've got, it feels like a bad cold but I keep getting indigestion type stuff, doesn't help that its the monthly curse as well and they're never easy, but I always seem to get ill at the same time making everything twice as bad. Easy day planned today didn't get the baking done yesterday so will try and do it today. DH left me in bed and went to work with no sandwiches, so I feel guilty now, didn't even hear him get up!

DH did his best to cheer me up yesterday and it worked, he announced with the money I've saved by sticking to my budget we could go for a day trip to Calais next month and again in late November for the Xmas fair, plus he booked for us to stay in Normandy for a fortnight in July next year, so I'm chuffed and the holiday carrot will keep me on the straight and narrow and we have something to look forward to :)

Aussielass - re yesterday's question about my name, yes it is a plant, my favourite herb actually that goes into my lemon verbena cake that I posted somewhere else on here recently, drinking lemon verbena tea at the minute to help with the indigestion feeling I have.

My wool & patterns arrived this morning, everything was there except the wool for the jacket I was going to knit myself :( Have emailed the company and asked what's going on, it was ticked off on the invoice but not in the order and there's no note saying to follow or anything. All the wool for the things I'm planning to make for other people arrived though, typical :rotfl:

Donny-gal thanks for the link, could use something like that myself ;) everytime we go on a long trip in the car I always need to go to the loo when we're miles from anywhere and not a tree insight! I've always joked about needing a 'girlie funnel' but didn't realise they actually made them lol!

Hugs to everyone, hope you all have a lovely day whatever the weather :)
