My Vodafone 5800s weren't locked - we got 2!
Vodafone apparently don't lock most of their handsets now. This has been confirmed to me by both Lee (posting under Vodafone Company Representative), and the sales guy I bought one of them through. True to their word they are not locked. They are, however, branded - that is to say they have Vodafone written on them.
Vodafone will also unlock PAYG handsets provided you've had them over a year now FOC.
I agree though, it is a fantastic phone! I use the wifi, and I have the 'unlimited' internet package. As I'm not into downloading in a big way but just browsing, the 500Mb should be fine.
As for bundles - one from Voda did come with the TV out cable and the stand plus everyting else. The other came with everyting apart from the TV out cable. I contacted Vodafone who, at first wanted to swap handsets with me, but I suggested they credited my account with the cost of a TV out cable instead. We have one between us, which is enough.Behind every great man is a good womanBeside this ordinary man is a great woman£2 savings jar - now at £3.42:rotfl:0 -
I didn't get any of those with mine. Just the headset, charger and USB cable.

The original 5800 came with the AV cable etc in the box. The new "revision" does not.
This is not specifically aimed at O2 - all should be selling the "new" model soon.Nothing I say represents any past, present or future employer.0
