Do we lose the customer service when we budget on our Air Travel?
I personally don't think they are worth it and would rather pay a few more quid. I found my self nodding, then nodding again when i read this.

I've sort of decided I'll only do hand luggage only with Ryanair.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0

MOVING THREADS FOR BETTER RESPONSES
Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: I’ve asked Board Guides to move threads if they’ll receive a better response elsewhere (please see this rule) so this post/thread has been moved to another board, where it should get more replies. If you have any questions about this policy please email !!!!!!:hello:0 -
It depends what sort of a traveller you are. Some people are willing to pay more for service, for others cost is the most important factor.
For me, I couldn't afford to pay more, and I and my family have had holidays we wouldn't have otherwise had, and been to places we wouldn't have otherwise had the opportunity to go to, thanks to Ryanair's 1p/£1 flights. We just accept the restrictions and make the best of them.

Depends which airlines: there are better and worse budget airlines, and better or worse full service ones.
I never (again) fly Ryanair, for example, but have never had problems with Jet2 or easyjet, both of which I am happy to use for short European flights. Similarly there are full-service airlines which I avoid if at all possilbe.
The thing to be aware of is that budget airlines are not always the cheapest, so you need to weigh up how much you are saving for each trip. Nowadays on short-haul flights the big carriers offer a pretty no frills service anyway. The real difference is not the experience in the air but, as the OP says, the way they treat you if somehing goes wrong.0 -
I've never flown Ryanair but have with Easyjet and BMI Baby. Both of the latter were fine. They were only domestic flights to Scotland but no problems and the prices were cheaper than any other form of transport (even with taxes etc..).
If you need more flexibility, then it costs more. I'd certainly consider budget again. Saying that we flew to Paris with BA this spring and got a brilliant price, better than budget for our particular needs. (restricted times to fly).0 -
I have never had problems with Ryanair, but have had several problems with Easyjet. Given the choice of the two, I'd go for Ryanair everytime.0

That's only because you've not experienced problems with Ryanair. If you get a dirt cheap fare, do not need hold luggage, have an electron card, and there are no problems with the flight then Ryanair are fine. If things do go wrong it is more likely to leave you in the lurch than any other airline.0

I never seem to get cheap flights anymore- where I want to go! The only thing about Ryanair is the waiting, 3 times I've flown with them there's been a at least an hour sometimes 3 or more just hanging about after we were meant to leave. Also, if you need water, you have to beg and they really don't like it, if you got it taken off you as you check in and forget to have any cash on you!Do we lose the customer service when we budget on our Air Travel?

However, in the past it has been amazing allowing me to afford things I never thought I would, now I just don't think it's worth it.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -

For many its not a matter of choice in the first place as budget airlines are the only airlines flying to certain destinations from their nearest airports and unless anyone can be harassed with connecting through a flight into London or Amsterdam then its obviously worth it0 -
Are Budget Airlines worth it? Yep
I go 4 times a year ,few days in Feb ,few days in May ,week in July ,week in Oct
If it wasnt for them i would probably only go twice at most
Yes they can be a rip off (credit card charges spring to mind) but you have a choice ,you either go or you dont
Have a nice day
