Yes but as I stated, its accidental damage cover and is for 3 years M8.
    It was "no quibble" cover.
So why are you arguing about it? ;)
    Can I help?

As long as it's not a Maxtor!.......

Well, the Hitachi drive is what used to be IBM Deskstar. This drive had a terrible reliability and used to be known as the IBM Deathstar.

    See http://techreport.com/onearticle.x/6292

The problem with all hard drives is that the bigger they get, the more data you stand to lose.

I managed to get one today. RE: formatting, I am a little confused. Should I quick format, format or leave it as it is? (I use windows XP home SP2).

I managed to get one yesterday, there were none on display so I asked a sales assistant if they had sold out, he went to check in the back and came back with one enquiring if it was the one I wanted. I told him to scan it and I would tell him. When it came up at £69-99 I told him that it was the right one. As he processed the sale he kept muttering, "That's a good price", I don't think that he could belive it and I had to prompt him for my five quid voucher.
Anyway, I formatted it before I read the previous couple of posts, it works O.K. but have I cocked it up ?

Naaaa nowt wrong in formating a HD M8, but it should already be formated and windows should pick it up as it is.

My drive came formatted as FAT32. I would recommend re-formatting it as NTFS if I were you can. (quick format will just be as good as a 'regular' format.
