Ooh, has anyone mentioned 'Say No to 0870'? It's a website where you can type in the company you are trying to phone or their 0845 or whatever number and they give you an alternative local number to call.
We find it very useful as we have free anytime national calls with our package but even if you don't it might still save you money on these long calls to utility suppliers.
Don't get too fed up - you're doing brilliantly!

  • Glad you are still making progress D&D don't loose heart. At times when you can't spend anything at all and are feeling a bit down why not visit the freebies board and try to bag yourself a free treat. Or do some daily clicks or paid surveys. It would mean that you have something to do that is productive and eventually you would earn enough to buy or win a treat!

You could also join your local freecycle, even if you don't need much they somethimes have things like bundles of magazines. I find a few magazines can cheer me up when I haven't got anything to do.

Keep posting, we're all here for you :)

Glad you've surfaced again. It can be very lonely in our situation - but we all support each other. PLEASE don't disappear - when you feel down - SHARE IT - it's all part of it.

This place is not only about advice - it's support - something you defo need at moment.

As Katp said - look at freebies or anything else you can do to divert yourself.

Well done on the begining of your journey. I had a look through your post to get some ideas as a friend wants me to help her out of debt, and I needed to refresh myself to this board. Haven't been here for a while. Reading through has been really motivating, almost makes me wish i was in debt again so i could get excited about the payments. I used to have charts and all sorts to show me my journey, lol. Anyway, just posting really to let you know you can do it, I'm a single mum too, just keep plugging away.
    Good luck

Hello D&D, sounds like you have had a few ups and downs lately but hang in there, every little step helps. Once you get your electricity situation sorted, try changing to a supplier where you can take regular meter readings and update your account online - result, no estimated bills to spoil your day!

  • Well, i'm please to say that the boyfriend + I are moving in together!

on a negative note, missed another payment on council tax now have to pay in full :(
  • Hi D&D glad to hear you and your boyfriend are moving in together I hope that this is a wonderful step forward in your relationship and also in your fight against your debts.

Sorry to hear about the council tax. Can you speak to the council and agree a regular repayment plan together with your monthly payments done by DD so that you don't risk missing payments again??

Keep plugging away with the payments and with cutting down the outgoings. And keep posting on here whenever you need support or want a chat.

    All the best x x
