And herein lies the reason millions of people remain unemployed. But I bet you'd be the first to get on your high horse about "those lazy people who can't be bothered to get a job"!

Try take a chance like this firm http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/health/8153564.stm and you might just reap rewards. If you don't give people a chance you will never know. This is what a "trial period" is for, but being an employer you should already know that.

So there are millions of umemployed people with Gross Misconduct on there CV's?
Get a grip please and think for a second.

Candidate A & B are equally as good at their job and both similarly qualified.
Candidate A has a good work history.
Candidate B has been fired previously for Gross Misconduct.

    Who would you employ?

I think it depends on how well you come across at interview, (if you can get in to one, some people just won't give you a chance now) -
I knew a girl and a bloke sacked for gm, one for being under the influence at work and one for theft.
The girl never had any problems, she was able to explain the situation and reasons it happened, admited it had been a mistake etc.
The bloke however, tried to cover it up and was found out, sacked again then couldn't get references.

Sorry to hear that. You'll need to find out what the company's policies are related to dismissal, obviously if policy is to immediately fire people you can't do much as that's what you agreed to when working for the company, but if it isn't probably best to check out:

Sorry to hear it went that way. From what you've said it sounds like they've over-reacted somewhat.

The most critical element is your ability and how you express your intelligence and behavior at the interview. Good luk!

    Its not.
Its getting the interview in the first place.

    Not at all.
In the real world, especially at the moment, its far harder to get an interview than anything else. That has nothing to do with Misconduct on your record......almost everyone is in that particular boat.

    Why is that?
Because i am not telling you what you want to hear?
I am being as honest as possible with you rather than just blowing sunshine in your direction.
