Hi Milly :hello:
Good news on the change pot! Cheerleading sounds like an expensive hobby. My little DD has just started ballet, so that's 2 sets of lesson fees, ballet shoes, tap shoes, skirts, socks blah blah blah!!! The spends never ends
Hope you have a productive day at the library
Hello macgirl, thanks for popping in here;) Yep, cheerleading adds up....but they both love it and it is exercise isn't it?! My youngest used to do ballet (she didn't last long, she's not very ladylike!) and that was one expensive hobby so eeek to both of yours doing it:eek: They don't get any cheaper as they get older...mine do gym too on a Sat....£9.20 for them both a week.Keeping_Motivated wrote: »Thank goodness your girls have you to make up for their fathers 'failings'.
Sounds like a fun day for them today.
Hope the library trip has proved productive.
Awww thanks KM....I do think it's a good job they have me....if it was down to him they wouldn't be able to go to any clubs! And at the moment I'm the only one paying for the summer trips...:mad:
And yes - I did have a productive time at the library - was lovely and silent there, sat in the sun reading....I only left really as I was hungry:rotfl::rotfl:
Must do a bit more now, before watching Holby from this week while girls out, Then a lovely lie on sofa with glass of wine when they're back...:beer:I really need to sort out a new signature!0 -
Well done on your library visit. I won't spoil it for you but Holby was really good this week-both episodes!0

Girls are back and had a fantastic day - the group they're both in came first and the older group DD1's in came 2nd......very happy girls!
Had a yummy HM curry, now vegging on the sofa with a bottle of red and chocolate..oooooops. And to think I've been cursing the extra half stone I've put on....will think about that on Monday eh:p:p:pI really need to sort out a new signature!0 -
Not the NSD I had planned for today - girls went to print their homework and the colour ink had gone:( DD1 was happy to print hers in black, but DD2 has made a book about JLS and it'd be reaallllly boring in black! So we trotted off to Tesco....£16 for the ink, and bought a bra for £6. Also got a few groceries.....only the things on my list - that NEVER happens! So, £8 from Grocery account - I have just over £5 left for the week....but should be fine!!
This afternoon I need to finish the essay plan and DD2 wants to bake some cakes. We're doing Jamie's minced beef wellington again for dinner - was soooo delicious last time and really easy, DD2 will do most of it.
I'm going back to work tomorrow too - not sure if I'll be able to do the whole day, need to speak to someone about that, be good to just do mornings for a bit, will see. Alsdo not sure how it'd work with my tax credits/HB if my wages went down. Obviously being of sick doesnt affect it as I've been on full pay but if I only did mornings then money would go down...hmmmmm:o
Right off to do something useful:pI really need to sort out a new signature!0 -
Hi Milly, which Jamie Oliver book did you get and would you recommend it?
Good luck at work, listen to your body and take it easy x0 -

I bought Ministry of Food and I would recommend it yes....not at the full price of £25, I got it for £12.50 on Amazon. It has lots of things that the 3 of us would eat, nothing that fancy - normal food;) It's aimed at novices, just seems good, family grub:)
We did the Minced Beef Wellington 2 weeks ago - it's just minced beef mixed with a load of partly cooked veg (I changed the ones he used for things we all like!) - then it's wrapped in puff pastry - very easy and absolutely fab. It looks soooo impressive when cooked and it did us for 2 meals, along with me sneaking a couple of cold slices for lunch the next day:)
I bought Nigella's Express as well, but not used that yet - it looks ok, but a few fancy ingredients....I must look thro' it again, DD2 will gladly cook something from it!!I really need to sort out a new signature!0 -
Thanks Milly I think I might treat myself to Jamies book then.
I hope work went ok today x0 -
Work went well yesterday (and today) - and I'm only working til 12 each day, which is great. I was shattered yesterday, asleep on sofa at 1.45 and in bed at 9pm:p It was lovely to be back at school though, did miss the littlies I work with;)
I've just got in and have joined Weight watchers....again:rotfl: It was £30 for the 3 months, hopefully will get £30 cashback thro' Quidco, so if it costs me nothing in the end that'll be lovely! I need the online tracker and points calculator to keep on track, otherwise I'll slip. I weighed myslef today and am 9st10.5, which is the heaviest I've been since last Aug when I joined WW in annoyance then!! I want to lose a stone, but will be happy to hover about 9stone really. But 8st10 I'm happiest at....if only to fit in all my nice clothes!
So, today I've eaten raisins for morning break and just had 4 french toast thingies with low fat cheese spread, toms and cucumber. Saving a packet of Wotsits for a mid afternoon treat:rotfl: I have 17 points for the day (eeeek, thats not much)...have added in tonight's dinner (chilli) and have 5 points left....so enough for the Wotsits, yogurt for dinner and some fruit.
Must do some Uni work now, while I'm not feeling too tired! I did try yesterday afternoon but nodded off:DI really need to sort out a new signature!0 -
Milly I made an amazing WW soup yesterday, it was:
1/2 butternut squash (peeled, deseeded and cubed)
1/2 onion (chopped)
1 carrot (chopped)
2 pints of veg stock (made with 2 stock cubes)
some garlic / chillies (optional)
Gently fry the onion (in frylight spray) for 4-5 mins, add the carrot and squash and fry for another 4-5 mins. Add the stock, bring to the boil, then cover and simmer for 25 mins. Then blend it all and eat
Zero points, serves fourMortgage Total: £51,549 / £75,000
Mortgage Overpayments Pot £10790
