I have to second the body shop eye definers - they give great coverage in gorgeous colours.

And currently you get two eye definers free with every copy of instyle which is £3.50 (about a quarter of the price of the two pencils with it) they have black/silver, black/blue and black/emerald green.
Just wanted to say thanks for this tip-off! I needed eyeliner, and thanks to you I managed to get the black/blue combo with the magazine. I will keep a look out for the black/silver as well.

(BTW MrsE - I keep noticing the way you always type Perscriptives instead of Prescriptives too :o I thought about PMing you about it because it made me wonder whether sometimes you might miss out finding offers/ebay listings on the stuff if you don't search for the right thing :o No offence intended on my part, honest...)

I'm still looking out for the black/green one as I've got the rest now. I'm well stocked up on the black eyeliner now :D much better this way - very cheap!

Bonus time is a always a good time to visit beauty counters. Clinique and No7 do some lovely goodies.

Another really good one is the Estee Lauder makeup artist collection which they do in Autumn. You pay £45 with a fragrance purchase for £££'s worth of makeup in a gorgeous case plus brushes. I got one last year after treating a relative to some perfume and the colours were really lovely and its packed full of stuff. The last one I had lasted quite a few years before I decided to get a new one.

That does sound really good! I like Estee Lauder perfumes- they last for ages!!

Am I right in thinking that Clinique have their bonus time on now? I had never heard of this until yesterday! What does it actually mean?! :o

I think the Estee Lauder xmas gift (usually £45 with 2 purchases) is always pretty amazing:D;)

I totally agree about spending a decent amount of money on some good foundation, but I don't think it has to be tons.. No 7 do ok foundations, but my sister's Bobbi Brown one feels so nice on my skin :) I don't get the cheapest mascaras but do love the Define-a-Lash one, which is still under £8ish I think. I have to admit I like getting expensive eyeshadows from Urban Decay/Mac because they're so pigmented and the nicest colours.. plus they last for a really long time. ELF have some nice stuff in their studio range (eyeslipsface.co.uk).. Hope you enjoy buying all this make up :D Oh and remember to check ebay to see if it's cheaper on their- things like eyeshadows are quite easy to find and often a lot cheaper. Good luck :)

Have any of you tried Barbara Daly Range at Tesco, I use the oil free foundation and concealer and find them very good and long lasting. Her Nail Varnis is also supposed to be good, it nots expensive either.

(Very sorry to hijack thread but am having problems in the make up dept)
Anyone know where I can get some cheap but nice make up and brushes online? It doesn't have to be fresh into the shop stuff, it can be last season, just I'm severely cack with colours and always go for the same thing.

I purchased 24 brushes with case from this seller:

    http://shop.ebay.co.uk/stylesicons/m.html?_nkw=brush+set&_sacat=0&_trksid=p3911.m270.l1313&_odkw=&_osacat=0

They are excellent and wash well. I use Liz Earle's hand wash and then spray Mac's Brush cleaner on to them. Just get a cheap spray bottle and the cleaner will go much further.

I also use olive oil to clean eye liner and foundation brushes before washing.

If you go on youtube, enkore has some great tips.
