"Now to trolling as a concept. .... Personally, I've always found it a little sad that people choose to spend such a large proportion of their lives in this way but they do, and we have to deal with it." - MSE Forum Manager 6th July 20100

You should refund the buyer straight away.It is not their fault you have to wait for a refund from ticketmaster. What did you do with the money the buyer sent you ?0

Ebay/paypal required all sellers of MJ tickets to refund promptly once the concerts were cancelled for obvious reasons. Those that complied got their fees back automatically, even the ebay ones, those that refused or delayed were told there may be penalties put in place..as has happened here.
If you were the buyer how long would you want to wait for your refund? This is the disadvantage of ticket touting, you take a chance to turn a good profit and if it doesn't work out you have to be prepared to put it right again quickly. They were quick enough to take the buyers money! It was an ebay announcement.
'We also want to remind you that sellers should contact buyers by 17th July and are expected to offer full refunds to their buyers. Please note we will refund all selling fees back to sellers, who issue a full refund to their buyer'
That was most recent one. I had contacted him well before this and was always going to refund it. Never crossed my mind that I wouldn't! The announcements offer no more time-specific information than this and certainly no mention of account suspensions. You should refund the buyer straight away.It is not their fault you have to wait for a refund from ticketmaster. What did you do with the money the buyer sent you ?
Nothing at all. Not that it's any of your business.0 -

I've never claimed to have had an issue with refunding them. You would realise that if you'd read my posts. I'm just unhappy with how Ebay/PayPal have gone about freezing my account without notice.

You obviously had issues with refunding them quickly though which is why your account was frozen. I'm afraid the only person to blame for the freezing of your account is yourself.0 -
I ended up with 4 spare tickets as DS asked me to try and get them for friends (after getting his). Then the friends got their own, so I sold 2 pairs on ebay.
Shortly after MJ passed away, I emailed both buyers and assured them that as soon as ebay and paypal had sorted things out, I would then be making them refunds. I also asked if they would be happy to wait until I received my refund from Ticketmaster, and they were both agreable. The refunds from Ticketmaster came through whilst I was away. On 26 July I arranged to add funds to my Paypal account. The money left my bank account on 29 July. On 4 August I also got the email from Paypal about limiting my account. I telephoned Paypal to enquire where my money was. Although I was categorically assured they were not able to hold on to my money, curiously enough about 10 minutes later I received an email confirming the transfer of funds was complete. I immediately refunded both buyers and Paypal refunded me the fees. I telephoned them back and the restriction was lifted.
I was told that this restriction has been placed on every account which sold MJ tickets and will only be lifted once a refund has been made.
Ebay have advised that the refund of fees will come through, but they can't say when.
Had my buyers been unhappy to wait, I would have refunded once the fees issue was resolve. I kept in touch with them the whole time and they were fine.0 -

Glad I'm not the only one!0 -
Obviously? Really. Sorry I disagree.
I don't.
Either I get my goods which obviously now wasn't going to happen or I get a refund straight away.
Why should I wait for a refund you sold the tickets on that's your problem.
Its also up to you to chase ticketmaster for your money back.
Ebay is a bad enough place these days without sellers like you.0
