Oh dear, still the same !!!!! doesn't matter what is posted. Theres some good cheap acer laptops for the OPs original price but really those would be for home entertainment/gaming. For business 500 quid would do nicely, maybe something from the 5700 series.0

You've obviously confused me with someone else, I thought I was a bigot, why would I purchase one? Being as intolerant as I am. You left out that if I wanted one I'd install Linux on it, better eye-candy and more secure you see. But really I have better stuff to spend my money on, like my children and mortgage, rather than an overpriced PC.

Returning dutifully to the topic of this thread, however, it might be reassuring to the OP to be reminded of your own view as to the merits of Windows laptops in comparison to those of Apple.
I'm sure you're perfectly right thats why no businesses use windows at all, for that exact same reason... oh wait, hang on, yes they do hhmmm the words "out of " @rse" "your" and "speaking" spring to mind, probably not in that order.
I'm sure when you're in that foreign hotel and just opening that laptop (I assume its a mac) it would take you less than half hour to complete "critical" business with it;);).
Anyway maybe you should learn something then. If I'm in a foreign hotel with half an hour to do something "critical";);), etc etc I can do it either in windoze and not worry about malware, or do it in linux and have even less malware to worry about than you on your mac.
Also if you're having to deal with malware like that regularly review you're security and stop browsing those !!!!!! sites, you know the ones with the man and his unnatural connection with his computer.
News for you, you are a computer geek only differenence is instead of drooling over computer code you probably have some form of sexual relationship with your computer like most apple fanboys.
In reality the cheaper one works just as well and you know it, as well as those !!!!!! sites you need to lay off those "pc vs mac" adverts cos they aint true despite how much you'd love them to be.
TBH I could afford one if I really need one but whats the point??? It doesn't do anything my pcs cant. Simple really, why spend more than you need to, not into all the hype.

Just for the record, I'm posting this from a Mac that's 9 years old and is happily running the latest (yesterday's) version of Mac OS 10.5.8.
But, of course, the OP has already passed personal verdict on the appeal of Macs. Clearly the OP is in enviably impressive company on that particular dilemma.
