Buyer threatening . . .

I'd agree with the others. I'd have assumed the watch was fine and just needed a new strap.
I'd also be very annoyed that the postage wasn't refunded as I think the listing is very misleading.0 -

Where does that admit you were wrong? I see no threat implied or otherwise in the message received from your buyer. Looks to me like they were simply informing you of their intended course of action. No reason to go off at them.
Also, it doesn't matter what your other descriptions are like- we're not talking about them are we?!
I did in my second response! I stated i didnt describe the item as thorough as I normally do. I will probably issue a full refund as long as there are no other consequences from it.
The initial tone of my reply was the thought of him threatening me - i wouldnt send a message with . . . regardless of the outcome i will be leaving feedback. To me thats threatening.
Thanks for your replys i have got the message now - i was firmly in the wrong and will get a negative.

OMG, you sell a watch on ebay but fail to mention in the listing one tiny piece of actually extremely important information, ie IT DOESN'T WORK!!!!!, come on, how could you possibly expect your buyer or any of us to believe this was accidental???, I'd neg you in a flashAug GC £63.23/£200, Total Savings £00

If it was me I'd expect to be fully refunded due to the listing error , if you're half the seller you claim to be you'd give a full refund without any fuss.
Out of interest , how much was the posting & packing fee charged and how much did it actually cost you ?0 -

I replied stating it wasnt a problem, and once recieved i will issue a refund minus postage costs via paypal and there will be no need to open a dispute. (was trying to be as polite as possible). Heres hoping once the refund happens i will not get a neg
fingers crossed
You have to refund him including his original postage costs (if he opens a dispute thats what will happen) You should really refund his return postage as well as it was your fault due to the poor description.0 -

It was accidental!!! I honestly didnt think to put it on and come on it just needs a battery! The most important part was the strap being broken!!
I am issuing a full refund. Case CLOSED!0 -

No I think the watch not working is quite important. Hows the buyer to know its just the battery if you dont tell them. If it was just the battery why didnt you replace it? It wouldnt have cost much.
There is a chance you could have avoided a neg. By dealing with the complaint a lot better. And issuing a full refund including return postage. Then the buyer may have just given you a neutral. The tone of your fist email to the buyer I agree with others that would have immediately put me against you. I think you need to have a look at how you deal with customers otherwise this neg will be the first of many.0 -

But how does your buyer know it just needs a battery? from a buyers perspective they have purchased a watch they presumed would be in full working order, when it turns up it doesn't work, I would automatically be suspicious even if you told me it just needs a battery, I would wonder why you had failed to mention that, replacing a battery costs what £6? not much I guess but an additional cost a buyer hadn't expected from this transaction
Fair enough you are offering a refund but your attitude towards this buyer in the first post was that you felt they were being unreasonable, your response to them was defensive, this is why you would be negged for the whole buying experienceAug GC £63.23/£200, Total Savings £00 -
Just had a look at the listings they are rather brief in description also to take a line from the ebay discussion boards. You need to register as a business as it looks like you are buying tennis balls to sell on0
