You'll be waiting a VERY long time seeing as Allstar and Tim have both been PPR'd.

Seems a shame because I get the impression that this is what Allstar was aiming for all along.

Either way it looks like now might be a good time to let this subject lie.

Posting Privilidges Removed. I had to look it up myself. They can still see what's being said on the forums but can't post anything themselves. The 'Mattress' thread has also been removed.

Guess the forum people just got fed up with it all.

Not at all surprised - the whole thing stank of covert and underhand promotion of beds!

Would have been nice to get some answers from Tim though. Although I suppose people have been asking for some kind of proof to back up his claims for years and to date he's managed to produce nothing...

Out of interest, after a brief bit of research online I would say mattressnextday seems a bit dodgy. They advertise a bed at £99.99 reduced from an apparent RRP of £169.99

(I wasn't allowed to post the links)

    mattressnextday omega metal bedframe

Yet the same bed is for sale at another (equally complained about) site for £79.99 reduced from the RRP of just £95.88 for the self same bed.

    topclasscarpentry omega metal bedframe

The beds come from a company called LP Metal Beds who are an importer and distributer, not a manufacturer, which probably explains why people sometimes have a bit of a wait: the bed needs to be manufactured and delivered from somewhere abroad, possibly China.

    Also might explain dubious quality.

DFS runs the same racket. Claims to be UK made yet you end up with weeks to wait.

Last point, mattressnextday and the many companies like them are resellers and only require a web site to be in business - they probably run out of the owner's bedroom, hence poor customer service.

They probably sell on ebay and amazon too.

Not all resellers are bad, but it does take very little to set up as one so you can't expect the same guarantee of professional service that you would expect form someone who has set up a bricks and mortar store.
  • was just about to order from these guys following many many problems with Dreams that have resulted in us having no bed for Christmas - glad I checked first:T

Ordered a cheap mattress on wednesday for delivery yesterday. Never arrived. Phoned them this morning and the courier "took it to the wrong area". They now cannot deliver til Tuesday, a week after ordering. Not happy, but nothing you can do. You pay peanuts, you get monkeys.
One important thing to remember is that when you get to the end of this sentence, you'll realise it's just my sig.

What a surprise. Didn't turn up again. Going to be tomorrow apparently

    Lesson learned.
