  • Thank you everyone for taking the time to look at my card and blog and the very kind comments.

I'm loving everyone cards. Had a good look around at peoples links and blogs, you are all very talented.

Not sure if anyone is interested, but Poundland have large bags of flatback gems in stock (I think there must be almost 500 gems in a bag). My SIL picked up a very large bag of decent quality die cut shapes. Hers consisted of assorted sized flowers and petals in various shades of purple. They also had bags of assorted shaped and sized sequins in - I bought a bag full of black, greys, silvers and white, but there were purples, pinks and orange/bronzes in various shades.

My extender plates and texturz starter kit have just arrived, so I'm going to have a play with them and try to get to grips with my Bigshot. I'm determined to master the partial embossing technique demonsrated by ikki on her blog, but think I might be trying to run before I can walk! Listen for the sobbing when she breaks her new toy!

  • Where do you get your buttons from?

I looked in the scrapbook shop last week when I went to bunbuns they had bags of woodware buttons for £1.99 but ideally I would like a bag of mixed colours? or is it best to buy bags like the woodware ones incase I want more than one of each button?

Anyone point me in the direction of cheapy buttons? Not too bothered about masses of them as I have never used them on cards

I got a pack of buttons from the Works for £1 just before Christmas. They were various shapes and sizes in shades of Blue (sorry don't have a picture) but they also did them in pink, white lemon and grey. They also stock these.

Melissa - Thanks! I did look on ebay but think my best option will be local shop, I know she charges 10p for some baby ones but they are fancy so plain buttons might be cheaper!

    Hello!
I made lots of note to do a catch up reply last night but was so tired I forgot - sorry!:o will try to catch up later. BUT just for now I've got quite a lot of buttons (I inherited my Mum's button box) and some I won once from papermania so if anyone is looking for something specific PLEASE just ask rather than spend your ££. Can you see I'm trying to be MSE? :rotfl: though I could never match Gemma's fabby drawers.

Rusty & Bunbun Good idea to share from Craftwork they have special offers for 'members' which must be so hard to get on your own. What did you buy?

Wifey - Sorry you've been so poorly, please get well soon - it will soon be the cake diving season & you'll need to be fit to do those double sommersaults. x

Marg, hope you can catch up on some sleep!!

They have a members club which costs £25 but if you spend over £25 then you get the membership for free, we spent just over £27 but have got quite a bit of card candy in various colours and also quite a few packs of their sentiments in various shapes. Now the membership gives you 10% off so we will get it a bit cheaper next time ;)

Just a few quick makes from ... they are on my blog!! I really don't know how I managed without my guillitine for sooooo long!!

Silly Tesco came today and didnt bring me a receipt,The driver said they didnt have any today  i had 4 substitutes that driver didnt tell me about. So ive had to spend 10 minutes on the phone going through everything with phone staff after i had been through everything online.. The outcome was my 4 substitutions are being refunded and i now have to wait or the store to post me a receipt :o How silly of them not to have any receipts...... Ok thats my moan out the way :rotfl:

we got an order for an 18th birthday card with a new york theme, copyright is always something we worry about so needed an idea that was 'safe' to use
our customer came up with the idea of recreating the new york skyline, hubby came to the rescue with this design
