• Thanks everyone, looks like I've been unlucky with Craft Superstore. I guess it happens from time to time.

Have a feeling this may be a bit of a thick question :o but what do you using for gluing things together?
I made our place cards the order day using a glue pen which started off fine but then got very messy!
I 'attempted' (then gave up!) at trying to make some thank you cards but the cut out 'thank you' was quite thin and fancy - the glue pen was making too much messy - what do you use for fiddly sticking???
Thanks in advance!

Now off to look for some inspiration for a cricut + thank you cards lol!

you could use some double sided tape for sticking the thankyou onto the card? what kind of glue pen are you using? I have a glue pen for crafting which is like a ballpoint pen but obviously glue its called a sakura quickie glue pen that may work?

Helping hubby - All of my orders are generally in usual times from craft superstore? hope you get things sorted but I agree give them a quick ring!

Did anyone else have an email the other day from craft barn about Artymiss? wonder what happened there?? hope no one had any outstanding orders with them?

Sal - Good luck for your OH.

Mary - Good luck for your OH aswell!

Tomsmum - Meant to mention yesterday but was so tired ... I did MIL a menopause survival kit (not sure if they would be offended though?) My MIL loved it and showed it to everyone at work :rotfl:

Organza bag filled with M&M's (you could use skittles but you would need to adapt the poem) the poem which went with it was ...
The contents list reads:~

To temporarily calm your craving for chocolate, eat the Brown one
At the first sign of hot flushes eat the Red one
To minimize depression eat the Orange one
The Green one can calm frustrations
If you feel a headache coming on eat the Yellow one
The Blue one reduces bloating
If all symptoms occur at the same time, eat the Whole bag!

I second Rusty - the Sakura glue pen is awesome. It's got some many uses too. I use it for intricate glitter detail. It's great for sticking down little corners that are peeling up. It's great for filling in outline stickers and adding glitter. Love my quickie glue pen :)

Also finding the right adhesive is a bit of trial and error.

I have glue dots, double sided tape, pva style glue with a fine tip applicator, and each have their uses.

It's not a thick question at all Lou or if it is I'll join you being thick if that's okay

I'm interested in people's replies eg what would you use to stick a rose or a fiddly flower that doesn't have a flat back to a card.

Thanks, Thriftyxxx

Hello everyone, I've made my challenge card (I know quick off the mark for me ;)). Actually made 4 along the same theme as they were so easy to do.

I love the Tesco cards, they are so fab

I used to use double sided tape to stick paper to a card but am now pretty much converted to Anita's PVA glue, it goes on thin and sticks brilliantly. Can also use it to stick paper flowers and loads of other things that you want to stick 'flat' to a surface. I use little square 3D foam pads for sticking card candy and 3mm glue dots for tiny gems/dewdrops. I do have a Quickie glue pen that was invaluable for sticking my Quikutz reindeer heads together as they were fiddly.

Great cards Rainmac :T. I think everyone's cards so far have shown that basic/simple can still be very effective.

For sticking things I also use a variety of stuff. DST has been a long time favourite. I've also discovered Collal Photo Glue which allows you time to move your paper/card to get it in the right place (how many times have I gone wonky with DST :o), and any excess glue wipes away easily without spoiling the card.

If I had a rose or fiddly flower I think I'd try one of those sticky glue dots (mine are Pritt). I used to use PVA glue for them but not always successful and I found I needed to hold the flower in position for a while until the glue had gone off. I'm really too impatient for that :rotfl: .

For anything that I know is likely to unstick (is that a word?) I would use the Hi-Tack type of DST with the red carrier tape.

If I'm sticking onto glitter card I'll scrape some of the glitter away first.

Then there's foam pads for 3D effect.

Can't think of anything else at the moment.
