  • Good morning everyone :)
Sorry to hear about everyones washing machines, I hate hand washing things :(

OH is off for his exam, so I'm up early. Tracking my first craft parcel (got 4 due today, but only one trackable), its 'on vehicle for delivery', so I hope I get it soon! I can't wait to get started.

I'm being tempted by craft websites though...50p deals seem too good to miss!

Ohh, does anyone know where I can get glass votives from?

    Hope everyone is well?

Well our weather is a complete nightmare this morning - more snow in Huddersfield and surrounding area and because it was wet yesterday, it's impossible to drive anywhere today, and normally my OH's car is super on the snow! There's people being pushed everywhere and there's not a chance of trying to get any incline! lol

OH had his endoscopy on Friday - (took him there in a wheelchair because of his sciatica) and they said he's got definitely one ulcer, and possible a second one, but they're not sure about it as it's in an unusual place and quite far down. So they won't know any more until he has his CT scan which is this Wednesday. Then we have to wait for 2 more weeks until he sees the consultant

Anyway, the reason why I'm here is to ask you lovely people if you've any ideas where I can purchase lots and lots of pink butterflies (preferably the wired ones) - they're for wedding stationery order - oh and I need some nice square card blanks too - probably the 5 or 6" ones?

    Thanks everyone again

    Sal

Morning - the moods a bit lighter here this morning after that rant about a silly card last night.
Sooo sorry to hear you are having washing machine problems - my SIL's is in her garage & has frozen up so she's sharing mine. At first she thought she'd be able to use the spinner & hand washed a load of stuff but it didn't work! Hope you all get fixed up very soon. (my dishwasher's just broken but I've got DH in reserve):rotfl:

Jazabelle - The flowers I've got are E-Line Prima flowers I think they are what most of us on here use. I think they came from Sarah's cards but can't remember. I've got the idea they are available most places.

Saucy - Hope OH passes his exam - what's it for? Sorry No idea about glass votives.

Hi Sal sorry to hear you are having such a carp time at the moment. Your OH sounds in a right pickle, 2 weeks is such a long time when you are not well. At least something positive is bein g done for him.

Congratulations on the order, it might be a good idea to check on ebay for the butterflies. I get my cards from Craftworks Cards, both the plain and the scalloped, they are excellent quality and so good value for money. HTH x

It's for his business degree, he's got three exams, this one is Systems Analysis, he's got Business Policy Wednesday morning, and finance in two weeks...I've learnt so much useless information these past few weeks! Makes me really upset about my situ with uni, so I'm hoping my craft order will come by very soon to cheer me up.

I'm glad you are feeling happier about your cards today :) I hate those types of day when everything goes wrong.

What does everybody use for cards here? I bought blanks and envelopes from Ebay, but they are very thin and not good quality, so I'll need some more. Any advice on quality/pricing?

    Thank you!

  • I can't believe harry is 4 weeks old today this time a month ago i was back on the ward already enjoying a cuddle for a few hours before they whisked him away from me. We have 2 apts at the hosp this week with him fingers crossed he doesn't get sent to the childrens hospital for a stay.

I had to walk my ds to school today for the first time as hubby gone back to work. It was hard work in the all the snow with the pushchair. I am missing not being able to drive, although wouldn't risk it with a baby in this weather but need milk.

I am going to be finishing that handbag card off today that i was doing before ds2 was born for my niece and i have another birthday card to do.

I have had a tiny play with my cuttlebug, I found cutting is quite hard to get the plates though but embossing is easy. I only have the free dies that came with it so need some more asap. Can anyone recommend anywhere with good prices?
:)Mummy to 2 wonderful boys :)

Glitterpot sell the e-line flowers too :)

Marg re the vellum I have some in my stash its been there ages and I have found the best way to use it is for matting and layering when you are putting an embellishment on the top, you can then put your dst under the bit where the embelly is going IYKWIM or attatch in a corner with a brad or eyelet.
It looks great when embossed in the bug. This is what I mean.

Rainmac - I'm sorry I wont be entering the current challenge I've just made the most incompetent inept card ever and am out of time.

If it could go wrong - IT DID!
    - Tried a fancy edge stamp - it looked chewed
    - Cut the scalloped circle - the WRONG size
    - My glue had seized up over the holiday - glue everywhere in getting it unbunged
    - Papers were a bit strong purple in colour so thought I'd use vellum to tone it down. Glue marks all over it. Anyone want a pack of vellum?

The only good bit was a pretty flower stamp I coloured. I might just post it on here just for a laugh.

Rant over - going to bed!

Jazabelle - my fave embelishments are flowers. Your cards are lovely!

No worries Marg ;) I have no cardmaking get up and go at the mo, did a bit of stamping the other night and sat down last night to colour the images in and I've done an awful job on most of them :o

Shall we start a new just for fun challenge - who'd like to set it? :A

Gemm, I am so jealous of you getting a sewing machine. I'd love to use machine stitching on my cards :D
 If you want the rainbow, you've got to put up with the rain

Gosh Louby where does the time go! 4 weeks old already. I hope your app go ok and he doesn't need to stay in. Give him a big cuddle from me ((hugs)) x

You will get the hang of the cuttlebug and once you get the dies you need you will wonder how you managed without it.
