Hi Lou, I buy lot
s of card from the Paper mill, its about 35miles from where I live but I only go a couple of times a year and get stocked up. Sometimes they will have a shop offer of buy 2 get one free, also if you take back your boxes for refils you get 50p knocked off. They also sell different size envelopes which are excellent quality. For me it is worth the trip to York beside that there is a Thorntons cafe and outlet just round the corner lol
Quite a few of us buy packs of cards and envelopes from Craftworks Cards they too are fab quality and reasonably priced, quick delivery too.0 -
Hi Folks,
I have organised a blog hop on my blog to encourage scrapbookers to use all of the old stash. I've opened it up to card makers too and would love to see what some of you come up with.
All you need to do is make a card with stash you have from:
* before 2007
* or if you are new to this: your oldest bit of card making stuff
* or that one item you've been "saving" because it is so beautiful and you can't bear to part with.
Leave a link to your blog at the end of my post and then on the 1st February post your card or scrap page and everyone can come and see what you've been doing.
Just for inspiration with what to do with that hard to use stuff. Like vellum. I have loads of it and it is my nemesis!

Just saw this and it's soooo hard. I'm actually using a 12x12 dragonfly backing paper that I got in a goody bag at least 2 years ago. I've kept it all this time, not wanting to cut it up for cards, but now I've started scrapbooking I am finally using it for my first 52-10 page - does that count!Or is it cheating
I'm glad I'm not alone in being like this. I have lots of 'special' bits that I never use, or the last pretty patterned paper that I can't bring myself to cut in case I need it whole for something else! Madness isn't it?0 -

Well that's me sorted then, most of my stuff is pre-2007, daren't say quite how far back it goes :rotfl: .
Here's a list of some of the things pre-2007 (and my first stamp and ink pad were purchased in 1994 ):
Cardstock and envelopes
Vellums and other papers
Stamps
Ink Pads
Sakura pens
Brush Strokes pens
DST and sticky pads
Anita's Tacky Glue - that's gone rather thick now :rotfl:
Art Institute and other Glitters
Anita's glossy stuff
Ribbons
Eyelets
Brads
Blimey, that's made me feel bad. All that stash neglected for so long, I'm amazed some of it still works.
Perhaps I'll try and make a card with my very oldest stuff, if I manage it I'll date everything!0 -
don't forget to link up to your blog on my blog today so we know where to go on the 1st feb!
sam - that isn't cheating! join in!
tomsmom - hope td is doing well! saw the update on the house thread. we have bricks. im sooo happy! my first ink pad was bought in 1995 which makes me feel old but i was only 11 hahai still have it! barely used!

Weirdly enough, I only started to make cards towards the middle of last year, yet I have *loads* of stash that is ancient....
...most of mine is bought in job lots from Ebay and is the stuff people have kept for years in case they use it and never do... so it's now cluttering up my house as I can't usually find a use for it either! ... (there's a moral in there somewhere....)
I made something again today!
looky looky lol
..and there I was thinking today would be a really boring day....
BTW I did go to crafty place but there never seems to be anyone there so please forgive me if I come here and post and it seems really disjointed as I haven't read anything in the past few pages.... it's my nightmare that someone will share really bad news or something and I'll turn up and bounce all over the forum or something and you'll all hate me after that...
..please don't hate me you're the only people who listen to me lol
So sorry in advance for seeming really out of touch- I'm trying to read loads but sometimes the monitor makes my eyes hurt after only a short time
xxxxx mmmmmwah xxxxx:j A-well-a bird, bird, bird...b-bird's the word :j0 -
Hello everyone, hope you're all managing to stay warm x
dawnteabag, what a nightmare you've had with the weather. Thinking of you xxx
mary, how's Mr Mary doing?
My sons' school and preschool were open today so we braved the journey and sort of slid to school in the car. Just about to get ready and pick DS1 from school, I hate this weather.
Forgot we usually do the NEC on the Friday  , I could well manage to do that, if you'll have me that is x:wave: If you want the rainbow, you've got to put up with the rain :wave:0 -
stay safe rainy! x
