craftygranny wrote: »Just to keep you all updated we have had some good news re Alicia . Following her recent surgery and biopsy her surgeon asked the nhs to make their final decision sooner rather than later . Rather than part financing Alicia's treatment they have decided to fund her whole treatment plus her flight and a flight and some accomodation expenses for one other person . They do recommend 2 people as the treatment takes 2 months but paying for one flight and 2 lots of accomodation and other day to day expenses will cost a lot less than the 50,000 they told us to expect to pay at first. Hopefully it won't take too long to raise what is needed now and any monies left over will go to candlelighters who provide help and support to the children and families recieving treatment at st james hospital in leeds where Alicia has been treated.
So can i say a big thank you to all you lovely ladies who have helped her enormously . You are truly fantastic and hopefully she will be on her way to good health again soon.

Craftygranny - Such good news for a Friday morning and quite a relief for you that the mountain doesn't seen quite so high to climb now.
Rusty - sorry you are still in pain, please don't overdo it, no decorating is worth damaging your back for. Ooh! time for yourself, enjoy it! I'm sure your DD will be fine, Flourgirl's right it's you who'll need tissues.....
Whoopidoo & Choccy's DS - Get well soon!
Furry - you're obviously trying to do too much - slow down & rest a bit! (says I who doesn't know which way is up at the moment)
Flourgirl - spotted some more of your yummy recipes on CP will try them when I get time & let you know how I get on. Our Christmas stuff is still in the loft:eek: but hopefully this weekend will see it done.
My mojo's gone walkabout - if you see it please send it back in time for Christmas I want to play when it's all over for another year.0 -
A couple of cards for my family for christmas here
And I made the first one of my bird houses!! how annoying and fiddly are they!! thank goodness only 2 more to make. This one is for DS to be hung on the tree, it has a Ben 10 necklace in there for him (the black ribbon type with a charm on it!) I have 2 more to make, DD has a minnie necklace for hers and OH has a leather bracelet for his!
I need some serious inspiration to make 3 cards for OH, or even just 2 and the kiddies can give him one between them!! Any suggestions? I am really struggling!
I agree about the tissues, I managed to not cry when DS started .... well almost, I made it back to the car then burst into tears!! Hopefully OH will be home on the 4th so he will be here for her first day!! She just seems so little!!Raising kids is like being held hostage by midget terrorists0 -
Craftgranny - absolutely brilliant news.
Rusty - watch that back of yours, please take care.
Now you lovely peeps, I have some very, very simple questions that I hope you can help me with. I have searched for beginners tips and techniques on-line but came up empty-handed - they are very basic questions that I have
First question - when you stick your background paper onto your card what glue is best to use? A glue stick, pva glue, double-sided tape around the edges. I don't want the paper to bubble.
Told you they would be basic questions0 -
