Told you they would be basic questions
Hi Thrifty. I didn't get on at all well with a glue stick. Blobby bits of glue under your paper so it was never smooth.
Double sided tape is good. I put it on the paper, lift a bit of the carrier tape from each side of a corner __l (IFSWIM) and fold it back, then the diagonally opposite corner. You'll then have two sticky corners which will allow you to position your paper with a bit of sticky but give you a bit of manouverability if you've not got it quite right. When the paper's in the right place, gently pull the rest of the carrier tape off while smoothing the paper down.
My favourite is Colall Photo Glue. Go up to the edges, I do mine in a circular motion all over the card, place paper on, you have time to move it around and get it in the right place. The excess glue can be rubbed off with your fingers, doesn't stain or lift ink off paper you've printed off yourself. I've had great results with that.
Hi everyone else. Sorry I've not been around. DH eventually came home from hospital on Wednesday. He's very weak but so happy to be back. I'm trying to make Christmas cards, wrap presents as DD is coming this weekend, it's been manic. So, for those birthdays I've missed - belated good wishes. For those that need hugs - here's a big one HUG. For anyone poorly, get well soon. I hope I haven't missed anything out.0 -
I'm pleased that OH is home for Christmas, TomsMum.
Thriftyscotslass ditto to Rusty with double sided tape and also the way TomsMum does it too. I use a wet glue if I'm sticking card to card as it gives you a few seconds to position bits exactly where you want them to be. Be the kind of woman that when your feet hit the ground each morning the devil says, "OH CARP, SHE'S UP"! :whistle:0 -

Crafts U Love have free postage until midnight Monday........sorry
It is nearly Xmas so may have to have a little lookI placed an order with the Glitter Pot this morning, only a small one
Rusty, sorry to hear your back is bad. Your birdhouse is beautiful :TI haven't started mine yet, may put them on the back burner and make them up next year, got so many other things that need doing.
Tomsmum, good news to hear your OH is home xxx
Thrifty, I always used double-sided tape but am more and more using PVA glue or Scotch scrapbooker's glue. I am carp at sticking things ons traight so the glue allows me a couple of seconds to wiggle it about if I need to (the card, not me).
Been to docs this morning and I have antibiotics for sinusitus (sp). My face is very painful and I can't really hear, smell or taste so my head is well and truly blocked.
Got all my Christmas cards to write tonight, well make a big hole in the task anyway:wave: If you want the rainbow, you've got to put up with the rain :wave:0 -

Following her recent surgery and biopsy her surgeon asked the nhs to make their final decision sooner rather than later . Rather than part financing Alicia's treatment they have decided to fund her whole treatment plus her flight and a flight and some accomodation expenses for one other person . They do recommend 2 people as the treatment takes 2 months but paying for one flight and 2 lots of accomodation and other day to day expenses will cost a lot less than the 50,000 they told us to expect to pay at first. Hopefully it won't take too long to raise what is needed now and any monies left over will go to candlelighters who provide help and support to the children and families recieving treatment at st james hospital in leeds where Alicia has been treated.
So can i say a big thank you to all you lovely ladies who have helped her enormously . You are truly fantastic and hopefully she will be on her way to good health again soon.
I am so thrilled for all of you!!! Big hugs to everyone xxx:wave: If you want the rainbow, you've got to put up with the rain :wave:0 -
Fantastic news craftygranny and Toms mum.
I assume you'll still be fund raising after xmas - will get some bits off to you after then - as I expect I'll want to make some stuff in the holidays.
I use DST for my paper but some times use zig glue that goes one blue so you can move it round a bit and then goes clear for a permanent stick - I'm off work until Wednesday :j:j. But have to drive to my mother's tomorrow really can't be faffed but have to get DD's presents off her dad and god forbid he actually came and delivered them  as he always says it's not his fault I moved so far away - nope his 2nd wife wouldn't have given me 2 minutes peace like she didn't before I moved so I would have ended up in the loony bin.
Don't stress to much about the decorating Rusty - if all else fails get some girly cutains and some of them stickaround things then you can do the rest when you're not so busyOfficially a non-smoker but still rounder than recommended

Ooo Rainmac, sinusitis is horrible but with the antibiotics a couple of days and you should be feeling much better. You need your smell and taste back for Christmas. An order from Glitterpot and another from Crafts U Love are a great tonic

Rusty forget about the decorating until after Christmas and give your back a good rest instead.
Padster did you get your roof done?
My craft room is all finnished now and looks too nice to make untidy, but I will have to find my mojo and get a move on.
Watch ITV tonight at 8pm its all about Pound Shops and buying cheaply for Christmas.0 -
Tomsmum glad to hear your oh is home.
Rainmac - sinusitus - oooh, nasty I've had that. Hope it clears quickly as the antibiotics kick in.
Thanks everyone for the sticking tips :T
Next question - when you stamp an image, do you stamp first, then cut your shape or stamp onto a pre-cut card-shape. As I don't have any uber-cutting-gizzmos yet, how do I cut a neat square or rectangle. Are there any tricks or do I raid my daughter's pencil case and borrow her ruler, protractor and compass - it's been a lonnnggg time since I did geometry...
Thx again, Thriftyxxx0
