My son bought home the bear they have in class as he was 'star of the day'. That means I am back at the pc printing photos of Jack in various poses to go into the bear's diary so Jack can then write some words in the morning to go with the photos before the bear goes back to school. You should see where some parents have taken the bear . At ours he's watched telly, had toad in the hole for tea (had to set a place for him and everything) and gone to bed (had to make him his own bed on the floor). Hopefully he's been bored and won't want to come back ;)

MrsTidge, Jack had slapped cheek when he was 2. We didn't have a clue what it was and at the rash appeared on a Saturday night took him to the out of hours doctors (which is at out local hospital). He was a bit off colour but ok and was right as rain after a day or two. Hope your DS is much better soon xxx

Rainmac - lol - I know what you mean - Tom had to do something similar in nursery - It was a nightmare trying to make our boring life seem exciting!! Like you say other parents went bowling etc. my excuse it was a monday night and if we had had him over the weekend he would have had a much better time!!! Instead of chilling out on the sofa!

Rainmac my friends daughter's school do a similar thing and they had to take it on holiday!

This morning I went into the kitchen to find a flood!! the dishwasher had been on during the night and the waste pipe at the back had come out of the drain and had been emptying itself all over the kitchen floor. We managed to dry everything out during today and Philip fixed the pipe but the laminate floor is spoiled, the water has got into the seams and its lifted it a bit :( We were hoping it would dry out and be ok. Looks like we will have to have a new kitchen floor :( The good thing is the dishwasher is still working :)

like everyone we're trying to cut back this year but without making it look like we're cutting back lol
came up with an idea earlier in the year but needed to buy a boxmaker so had to wait until our double discount week at work
    and heres the result
among other things I'm making these for a number of people
a handmade box with a selection of cards in
I'm tailoring the cards to suit the people I'm giving the box too
this box is for Pauls younger brother and wife who have lots of friends having new babies and who have young children
    what do you think ??

I'm a bit nervous about giving them to be honest
they all say nice things about our cards and my mother in law does buy loads but my brother and sister in law aren't the most organised of people bless them and always end up buying cards from a shop at the last minute so I thought these would make great stand by cards for them

Sunrise - that looks great. Just like Ali I would love to receive something like that.

Flourgirl - hope everything is dried out now - what a nightmare. I alwys feel really grown up when we have a domestic disaster, for some reason it makes me feel just like my mum and dad. I seem to forget I'm 43 and probably qualify as grown up anyway!

Rainmac - thanks for the info re slapped cheek. He's not contagious now so I'm just hoping he's well enough in himself to go on the trip on Thursday. If not I've promised some Star Wars lego to make up for it!
