Hi
Been really busy this week so have read the thread but not posted, but I have now finished work until 2nd November this week, I’m so happy!! I get to do lots of card making next week even with the kids on half term! Only 6 pages to catch up with so here goes, sorry it is so long:
Welcome to all the newbies – Sh3ie3, helping_hubby, fuzzymoneymonster, daydreambeliever
Hels and Gemm - Glad to hear you had a great time away. Popkins, I’ve seen you're back how was your trip for your brothers wedding?
Melissa – great card and notebooks on your blog. Love the Easel card, looks really effective. I’d be up for a xmas present exchange and will post on CP.
Flourgirl – love your dinky box, Rudolph and Snowman spares, such a great idea, will have to order some tins. Thanks for all the links to free stuff – I love it saving money when crafting!
Lovely cards on your blog lei, good luck making the other 23! Loving the wreath one, you have just posted – may have to nick that idea when my nestabilities arrive.
MrsTidge - thanks for the link to the US site for cuttlebug alphabets, I so want to get some, but don’t want to pay UK prices. Did you have to pay anything else for them coming into the country like extra for customs, or did you get them OK?
Louby-lou-lou – sorry to hear about your nappy cakes not being stocked in your local shop, but as the others have said, it is their loss, and you will find someone to stock them. I know it is hard to start the conversation, but if you don’t ask you don’t get and I’m sure it won’t be long before you find somewhere else.
Craftygranny – thanks for posting about Alicia, over the weekend I will donate on facebook for such a worthy cause. Hope you reach your target very soon. Happy to contribute to any cards you want made too. Just let me know what you need.
Great cards sunrise27 – love the daughter one with the black feathers.
Dawnteabag – thank you so much for my lovely stash. Yours will be waiting for you when you get back from holiday.
Paddingtondoo – love your bear cards and diaries. Glad my card arrived with you and that you liked it.
TheWife – love the Halloween cards for your grandchildren. I’ve commented on Ikki’s thread. My mum has been through breast cancer 15 years ago and came through it so am happy to support this cause. I love your bow – it looks so professional. I was only sitting here the other night trying to a make one with a fork, and eventually had to give up as it didn’t look anything like the pictures! Will investigate buying one on ebay, and then maybe ask you for instructions on how to use it.
Maryop – I am always intrigued with what you make so can you please let me know what ‘robins breakfasts’ are please? Good luck with clearing the pantry – I have my whole house to clear up and tidy tomorrow!
Welcome to ‘blogland’ Ali.b.123 – I’m a follower, and if you want to add my blog to your blog list is it here. Well done Ali on winning the Halloween challenge.
Rainmac – absolutely gorgeous card/things you’ve made on your blog. Good luck with all the fairs you are doing. Can I be really nosey and ask if you have to give a large percentage of what you sell to the school fairs or do you just give them a donation? Thanks for the link to labels for vistaprint – I’ve been making my own but it is a pain to cut them out the right size so will look into getting some done through here.
Great news on your car Rusty. Here is hoping that this is the end to the rough time you have had lately. Fabbie Halloween bags. Hope you made what you wanted on your tilda stamps – well enough to pay for some crafting goodies. Would love to come to NEC to meet everyone, but can’t get the time off, so hope you all have a fab day, and if you do it next year – I will be there.
Missjennipenni – welcome I made a wedding card like this for an order, and the second link is the card I sent to my friend when she got married – may give you an idea. here and here (scroll down to Weds 16th September)
I'll update my blog over the next few days with the cards that I have been making this week.
Hope you all have a good weekend.2016 is the year I am going to find time for me, and cherish the time I spend with my friends and family. It is also time to save - Aim £4,000 - So far this year - £230/£4,0000 -
Congratulations on winning the Halloween Challenge Ali0

Rusty, put me down as a possible at the moment as I'm waiting for a date for DD's op. (v.veins) it's the reason I've not got my ticket yet.
I'm following you sh3ri3 and well done Ali :j CT I've made that bow with a fork, it was so small but almost the same idea, it puts the tails at the back.
I won't be around for a couple of days as I have a mega amount of cards waiting to be made/finish, 14 for the US card swap and then 3/4 others to do. If I don't get tough with myself it'll never get done.
Bang! goes the portcullis and up comes the drawbridge at Boz Towers! Be the kind of woman that when your feet hit the ground each morning the devil says, "OH CARP, SHE'S UP"! :whistle:0 -
Morning all!
ALi - congrats on winning the challenge:T
CT - congratulations on your monster post! I ordered the alphabet and a folder and it came to £25 including postage. They put the value as $15 on the envelope and I had no problems with customs. I probably wouldn't do a high value order just in case - but if it was high value then the saving would probably still be worth it iyswim? I can't understand how we can be charged up to £50 in the UK:eek: I'm using it as an outraged smilie!
2nd day of half term today - we've a play date here which I always find easier than just my own children! The only thing is to try and make sure ds2 doesn't get too left out. I might be cheeky and do some crafting with him (ulterior motive moi?) so the big 2 can have some time on their own. The DS may well get an airing too - I can't believe a 3 year old can master one pretty well!
Melissa - great idea about the present swap -I'm in for a tenner or so! I also think maybe posting a bt of a wishlist is a great idea too.
Have a lovely Friday everyone.
PS Lei- I think your card is brilliant - very original.0 -
Just bought a bowmaker on eBay - £1.95 inc p and p!! I'm so easily led....0

I looked at the stash swap, it looks really cool, but I'm not entirely sure I have the right stuff to swap. Are there photos anywhere of what you have swapped in the past? It would be really fun to do. I'll have a look at what I've got at home.
@DaydreamBeliever - nice to meet someone else who is not naturally artisticMy collection is limited in comparison to what most people have I think.
My prized possessions are a paper slicer, scissors, double sided tape (there are many fancy adhesives, but double sided works out the cheapest I think), decoupage foam pads, I got a bumper box of coloured card for £4.99 from my craft shop - you pick what colours you want a fill a box up. You'll need envelopes. If you need to be thrifty, then make the cards by folding card, rather than buying ready made cards. I also love my Sakura quickie glue pen.
Start asking for relatives to pass their old cards on to you. You get bits of ribbon and sometimes if you're lucky some embellishments. And some cards are good enough to cut out and reuse the images, or make Christmas tags from.
@melissa - you sound like me, I don't drink, smoke, buy clothes or go out much either. My only big spend is going to concerts. After Christmas I should have some more money to spend on bits. I want a long handled punch and that gadget for scalloping the edges of cards. Oh and a gadget for cutting out circles. Hmmm I could go on....
Hiya! I live in Guildford so not so far from you! Do you have a good craft shop near you?? Might be worth me takina a wee trip if there is one not much really in Guildford and Hobbycraft in Woking so I generally shop online. I went to tne NEC in MArch and I'm going this time so you would have people going from your 'neck of the woods' if you can ever join us!!0 -
