I made some today using those jars after i saw fiddlefarts blog i was inspired.

2 ''jars of nothing'' for my brother and his girlfriend cos when I asked them what they wanted they said noting.

Message says: ''You asked for nothing. Nothing is what you've got.''

Jars are 3 for £1 from the £ shop. Then i just used some scraps of ribbon to go around the lid, cut out a label and added some wrap, but you could put it in a small box or a gift bag. The card warehoue place do 8 gift bags for £1 which are just the right size for these jars.

Ali - I shall be stalking you shortly! You're welcome to link to my blog too

Daydreambeliever - welcome to our thread. You will find a wealth of inspiration - and endless reasons to spend money!

Rusty - I too ended up with the tiny tins, just glad I only bought the small box!

Rainmac - fabulous stuff on your blog -I'm sure your fairs will be huge successes.

Rusty- those bags look even better with chocolate in them! Good luck withthe auction.

Flourgirl - another gorgeous pad set.

The-Wife - that bow is amazing - I am so rubbish at bows! The halloween cards are gorgeous too. I'll be donating some cards too.

I'm going to go and photograph some of the stamps I never use - they will be over on CP as a RAK sometime soon!

Thanks Mrs Tidge - put you on my blog list ('cos I can) - my husband thinks I have lost the plot :rotfl:

Ordered some lovely flowers from Sarahs cards tonight - but still got my creative craft world shopping list to hand as well - must get that sorted!
  • Hi everyone, thank you for the lovely welcomes and tips! All very much appreciated, and i'm now working my way through the links posted by flourgirl and melissa! WOW - where to start! (oh, and have bookmarked all blogs - wonder what i'll spend my evening doing!!)

Craftygranny - what a lovely offer, could i be cheeky and take you up on it? Need all the help i can get because the temptation from the faboulous sites i've been looking at will see Xmas shopping with my next salary go out the window as i treat myself to lots of lovely card making bits and bobs :o

Quick question, would you recommend getting something like this:

    ESSENTIAL STARTER TOOLS (£13.75)

This saver tool set consists of:
    Making Memories 10" x 10" cutting mat
    Making Memories Tool Kit Additions
    Dovecraft Precision Scissors

oh and the Prime e. flowers - would it be greedy to get a packet of each that thescrapbookgarden are selling?

All i currently have is card, 15 different coloured ribbons, old cards from birthdays/christmas (used to use them to make tags!), glue, double sided tape, glitter (and lots of it, got a bit carried away in WH Smith!) oh and some packets of gold/silver/red/green individual letter stickers which i thought were Christmassy colours - as you can see a long way to go but i will get there! :D

They have loads of items in there sale from 49p - i bought loads of papers and brads etc and it has really boosted my craft items,

They also do loyalty points (like boots) where you can use them on your next shop, they have 500 bonus points (£5) WYS £40 until midnight sunday. Loads of things have extra loyalty points on them too. Delivery is really quick.

Thanks for that princesswoo some good sale things there.

Daydreambeliever - I dont think I would get that starter tool set it seems a bit dear- yes you would need a self healing cutting mat & a craft knife and yes to scissors - but you could probably get them cheaper buying seperately, and you prob. already have scissors in the house. (mind you - dont take much notice of me - not been doing it that long - the other ladies might disagree and think it is a good buy)

Princesswoo - fabulous "jars of nothing" - such a great idea!!!

Rusty - thanks, there's no rush - I've got plenty to play with at the minute!!!!!

Daydreambeliever - the prima flowers are worth it- I prefer the embossed ones - they're the ones that have raised patterns on them!!! I don't use a cutting mat myself, but I know others do!

Mary - I can't help you with your stickers - are they the peel off sort???

I agree the starter set is expensive. You would probably be better getting a bigger cutting mat too, incase you start doing scrapbook pages 12x12. I bought one for £5.99 ad it is such a best buy.

So i would say a big mat, scissors any with a fine tip are great as starter scissors, my fav pair is some i bought at NEC in march for £1. Also get double sided tape.... its a life saver :D

Some great things on blogs at the moment.

The Wife i've just noticed your post about Ikki and have already signed up! It's a good cause and I recognised a lot of people from here had already offered their support.

Rusty your Halloween bags are amazing and packed so full of goodies I'm jealous!

Rainmac all the bits and pieces you've made for your craft fair looks brilliant. I'm just waiting for my Jelly Beans to be delivered then have 40 tubes of Jingle Beans to make for all mine & OHs friends & family! The snowman poop is selling for £1 a tube on eBay with £1 delivery if that helps as an idea for price?

Flourgirl I love the mini tubs of reindeer and snowman spares are you going to give them as gifts?

There's some other great cards which I think i've commented about on people's blogs but sorry if I've missed anyone.

Just uploaded a new card to my blog http://leialegweak.blogspot.com/ Do you think it needs a greeting or something else? x
