  • Can I ask a huge favour? Could someone please give me a link to where they brought the santa collage stamp? Or even stamp/emboss me a few - I don't mind paying?

    Thanks x
  • hi everyone, i'm new to this but actually want to attempt my own christmas cards this year, even if it's only personalised family ones. where is the best place to start buying?

You be careful with your back missus!!! I am going to take Ikea up on the offer too ;)

I am suffering for it tonight!! oh well it was worth it.

I got DS to have 5 books, and I took in 5 so we got £10 in vouchers, then I asked if I could take in some more she said I could so I went back to the car and got another 10 books .... she only accepted the 5 extra though ... £15 in vouchers tonight ... I still plan to take some up on Thursday when I go to visit BunBun :D ... If you catch the people at the front of store in a nice mood they may well be nice enough to give you some more vouchers like they did me :D

Also I know its not card related but last year ikea had gingerbread houses and they were £4.99 I managed to pick up a gingerbread house kit for £2.75 ... and then in the food section they had in the fridge ready to roll gingerbread mix so all you need to do it use cutters and bake :D this was £1.90 ..... hope it helps someone. The gingerbread house will be a pressy from our elf to the children (both house and ready to roll stuff) had May 2010 on them as a BBF date :D

  • Hello moneybags82 - I'm new to this thread too and finding out lots of tips. I don't think I can post links yet but I'm sure some of the others ladies can help you with sites. Have you looked in Hobbycraft (a bit expensive I think). Do you have a Range shop near to you. Online shops are usually cheaper though and then there's ebay!! Cardmaking is not very moneysaving though! I never knew how much stuff I needed!!!

Craftsuperstore have got a really good deal of 370 sheets of Christmas paper for £17.99. http://www.craftsuperstore.co.uk/Crafts/Paper-Cardstock-and-Pens/8-x-8-Paper-and-Cardstock/Cardstock-Multipacks/sc1157/p10932.aspx

That would be more than enough to do all your cards then you would need some card blanks (100 for £8 at The Works) and maybe some embellishments, toppers, stamps or decoupage. There's loads of good craft shops online so it just depends what you have in mind! x
  • this thread moves so fast I just can't keep up with it lol but I thought I'd share a little story with you
years and years and years ago when my Mum and Dad were first married ( they've been married 47 years ) my Grandad made them and his other children and their other halves a wooden chest , I think it was supposed to be a sewing chest
unfortunately my Mum does not have fond memories of her Dad and asked if I would like the chest as she didn't want to keep looking at it
now its not the prettiest of pieces but I could see its potential for looking after our christmas bits and bobs for our cards so here it is , in a new home and feeling very useful

  • What a fab storage chest sunrise.

Hi moneybags - you'll need all 82 of them if you're going to look on this thread :rotfl:.
This must be the least moneysaving thread ever ;).
Try the poundshop for bits and pieces as well as the works - I only ever get sticky pads from the poundshop. Our wilkos also has a good craft area in it well worth checking out.

Few new bits on my blog - DD was at basketball this afternoon and then OH watched the football tonight so had a play.

Am nt looking forward to tomorrow - have first physio appt - reckon I'll need to make up at least 1 1/2 hours at work but don't know when I'm going to do it especially if I have to go regularly
Officially a non-smoker but still rounder than recommended :p
  • Are you not allowed time off for treatment appointments, Padster?
 Be the kind of woman that when your feet hit the ground each morning the devil says, "OH CARP, SHE'S UP"!

  • Polly - your card is lovely - I love the sparkly snow on the umbrella.

Rainmac - glad your son is feeling better.

Rusty - that ikea offer sounds fantastic - shame I haven't got one near me!

Sunrise - that chest looks really handy - especially the two drawers.

Paddingtondoo - lovely xmas card - really bright and cheery!! Your football teddy is so cute - I love how you've decoupaged him. Your altered clipboard is fantastic too!

Moneybags - welcome to the thread. I get nearly all of my supplies online. I tend to wait until a shop is having a special promotion and buy stuff then. Keep checking the thread there's always loads of links!

Sunrise - that looks like a jolly useful storage space for craft stuff - much better than my shoeboxes!

Rusty - hope you manage a good night's rest & feel better tomorrow! Well done on your IKEA vouchers - hopefully different staff on your way to see Bunbun. Are there any date resrictions when you can use them? Can you use them on the same day you take your books in? I love gingerbread.

Padster - I second what the wife suggests/asks as it is a medical appt. That said, when I went to physio about my shoulder she gave me exercises to do at home rather than treatment so only needed to go twice.:j Hope all goes well for you.
