If anyone needs ribbons, to get free postage the answer is WILMA. It took me ages to find it but it worked and saved £2.25

Thanks flourgirl - i've just ordered a Turkish Delight ribbon box for me & OH's Mum! x0 -
Sunrise - that looks like a jolly useful storage space for craft stuff - much better than my shoeboxes!
Rusty - hope you manage a good night's rest & feel better tomorrow! Well done on your IKEA vouchers - hopefully different staff on your way to see Bunbun. Are there any date resrictions when you can use them? Can you use them on the same day you take your books in? I love gingerbread.
Padster - I second what the wife suggests/asks as it is a medical appt. That said, when I went to physio about my shoulder she gave me exercises to do at home rather than treatment so only needed to go twice.:j Hope all goes well for you.
There are no restrictions on the vouchers at all. They are just like a basic gift card (credit card type) which would be swiped at the till. They are blue and yellow... there is no dates to be used by and you could use them on the same day you visit if you wanted to
(I didn't though as I want to see how many I can get and see if we can make a start on the house
)
Paddington - As far as I know employers have to give you time off paid for medical appointments etc! ...hope it goes ok for you! Physio never worked for me

hi all, just a quick post as I start work soon, this is very OT but a while ago we were talking on here about making fudge. if anyone wants/needs a sugar thermometer, you can get one for free by going to this thread and getting the free house of fraser £5 voucher off Home items, then getting this from House of Fraser, I'm sure Kitchen items count as 'Home'! hope this might help somebody!!0

Hi Gemm,
Thanks for the link, I have saved the voucher to print it this afternoon. Will take it to HOF in a few days when I can get into town! I might find something in there for someone!!Raising kids is like being held hostage by midget terrorists0 -

Marg, I am in love with things on the blog you posted (and I love the name of it
), going to have to make some bits, including the pegs you posted...
Jingle Bells... http://itsallfiddlefart.blogspot.com/2009/09/christmassy-ideas-jingle-all-way.html
Sweetie test tubes... http://itsallfiddlefart.blogspot.com/2009/08/sweetie-test-tubes.html
Tiny advent calendar... http://itsallfiddlefart.blogspot.com/2009/08/how-to-make-itsy-bitsy-advent-calendar.html. Thinking of trying to make these with coasters.
Rusty, I bought loads of gingerbread house kits from Ikea last year for kiddie presents, I think they were £2 ish and just needed to add icing and sweets. My boys (including OH) loved making our house, it was lots of fun and it smells lush, almost like you have spent loads on a Xmas fragrance thing. Ikea also had lovely heart shaped biscuits with a hole cut out at the top and we iced them and put them on the tree with some ribbon. They looked lovely and were 55p for 10.
Flourgirl, I am definitely going to be ordering some ribbon, the Christmas range is gorgeous, just need to decide what to have???
Padster, you should be allowed time off for medical appointments. Make sure you find out before you try and squeeze in making up time.
Gemm, thanks for the HOF voucher tip off
For those looking to start making cards how about some digital downloads, there are several freebies images around that you can print such as these... http://pollycraftdesigns.blogspot.com/ (scroll down and look at Friday Freebies on right hand side). Lovely freebies here from Pink Peticoat including a fab font. And here from Funky Fairys (scroll down and look on right hand side, includes a fab free Christmas paper kit). Hope that helps
Haven't had a chance to look at blogs yet but I will do later. I posted a couple of new things on mine yesterday. My DS1 is poorly today. He has a very sore throat and he looks and sounds awful. He croaked to me this morning "I'm proper poorly mummy". First day off sick since he started at school last September.
I'm going to get poorly DS to do the draw today for my mini prize for the swing card swap on Crafty Place, will post the name of the lucky person on the swap thread later on. If you want the rainbow, you've got to put up with the rain :wave:0 -
this thread moves so fast I just can't keep up with it lol but I thought I'd share a little story with you
years and years and years ago when my Mum and Dad were first married ( they've been married 47 years ) my Grandad made them and his other children and their other halves a wooden chest , I think it was supposed to be a sewing chest
unfortunately my Mum does not have fond memories of her Dad and asked if I would like the chest as she didn't want to keep looking at it
now its not the prettiest of pieces but I could see its potential for looking after our christmas bits and bobs for our cards so here it is , in a new home and feeling very useful
I love that box sunrise, very useful too x:wave: If you want the rainbow, you've got to put up with the rain :wave:0 -
Morning All

Rainmac the ribbon code will probably end today and a new one start tomorrow it looks like it changes on the 1st of each month. I think I might just order the Christmas boxin addition to the ones I ordered yesterday, good job p&p is free
Sorry your son is not well, Willow is exactly the same she hasn't been to schoo l since last Wednesday. It all started with a tummy ache and ended up a sore throat, cough and full yukky nose0
