  • I once lived in a house like that . It was so bad in the kitchen it had lino (remember that stuff it's for floors lol ) glued and tacked to 2 walls . There was a shelf on the wall too and if you stood on a chair you could see where they had painted the shelf around all the pans. suppose you knew which went where :rotfl:
I can't settle today i've been like a cat on hot bricks Alicia flew to America this morning and it'll be about 1 am our time before they get to their hotel and we know that she was ok for the flight.

Lol at painting around the pans :rotfl:

Thx Marg - I have to score the paper into diamonds before I start - there's nothing light about my scoring either - it's the only way to get steam under the paper. Am procrastinating at the moment (big word) - really need to get another wall done but I ache sooo much - who needs the gym....

Craftygranny - hugs to you. Will be thinking of Alicia and Carly. Keep us posted.

Right - steam stripper at the ready. Take care all, Thriftyxxx

    Morning all:
craftygranny - my thoughts are with Alicia hope all goes well.
wanna b - sorry to sound dim but whats a shim?? (I was doing an alphabet (sizzlets) and had it on tab 1 with the cutting pads and sizzix self adhesive paper and felt quite tight going through - so thought it would have cut cleanly??? Worried about how much force to use??
Right off for a game of scrabble with eldest - he is so unlike his little brother who will occupy himself - but Jack if he is not on his xbox he is a lost soul and needs to be occupied hates doing things by himself. (At least I persuaded him to put the Monopoly away - I HATE that game:rotfl:)

"Hi everyone, I'll come back to catch up properly in a bit but need some help...does anyone know where I can get some letters approx 2 inch high to spell out Dad ?, preferably in a 'male' or neutral colour. DH has seen a card he wants me to do for his dad, its got tags hanging from it with a letter on each (I'm not explaining this very well am I :p)
    Thanks for any help" :)

Sorry Skiergirl - the letters I have are only 1" & a bit babyish colours - just a thought, if you've got some nice chunky fonts could you print the letters on card (or even a masculine paper) @ 2" and cut them out leaving the 'middles' in the letters which could be the same colour or different than the label colour IYSWIM.

Thrifty - about you 'big word' - it says something about me (not good) that as an 11 years old doing Latin:eek: (do they still force kids to do that?) I was the only one who knew that 'cras' meant 'tomorrow' only 'cos my M & D were always telling me to stop procrastinating.......sad to say I haven't changed:(

Ali.B - good luck with your scrabble - I HATE Monopoly too. A 'shim' is a posh word, I think, for another bit of card or paper make it thicker so you get more pressure on the cutter IYSWIM
  • Craftygranny I hope everything goes ok for Carlys switch on. Alicia will be in my thoughts. 6-8 weeks !! What a brave girl she really is. Lino on the walls and painting around pans :rotfl:.When i bought this house the owner had decided to do a spot of rewiring, using bell wire .

Marg Most kids nowadays have trouble speaking English let alone Latin :D

Ali Monopoly is a hated game from me too, it just takes tooooooo long.

Thrifty I read your last post wrong.. I wondered why you had a stripper at the ready :o:rotfl:

Rusty Have fun making your masculine card, i really dont like doing mens cards.

Giggle No idea about photo corner punch,i didnt know you could buy them. Ive seen the corners pre cut but not a punch, sorry

Skiergirl I will get my ruler and go measure the alphabet dies i have. If i have any that are big enough.I can cut you some. I have to post your stamps out to you anyway ;)
furrypig says:my name is Choccy and I am addicted to nose free stamps as I want to save them all and give them noses!!!:rotfl:

It's a piece of paper or card. Try a shim under it, but don't force it, if it's not going through, but to be honest if it felt tight going through you could have a duff die. One of my dies still won't cut cleanly even with a shim, so I am going to contact Sizzix to see what they say.
  • Rusty - sorry, can't leave a comment on your blog - but WOW! I love the effect uou got on the photo, I'm sure your mum's DH wil love it.
Skiergirl - I only have sizzix letters up to about 1". For DD's 21st I bought chipboard numbers and coloured them to match the card, I'm sure you can buy chipboard letters that big.
Just found these, but not sure what size they are - it's the same shop where I bought my numbers, I can go to the shop and check them out for you if you like? It would probably work out cheaper (and quicker) for me to post them to you as well.
some people grin and bear it, others smile and do it :)
  • A friend in America has just sent me a sneak peek of some new stamps, they are gorgeous! The 'glamour' theme seems to be big at the moment, they are in red and white polka dot bikinis and sexy poses, etc. I'm not sure if I explained that well enough?

I can't wait to get some!

    Here: http://thegreetingfarm.com/shop/
The 'Cheeky Glamour' range. My friend who doesn't like the stamps doesn't return from holiday until this week but her mum is getting me some today to send back, so If anyone wants any I might be able to get some?

It's just a copy of one of my doodles that I do for him. I did a proper one and scanned it in and Photoshopped him. I'm going to make some more now that I know what I'm doing (if I ever get time between reading this thread, blog hopping and trying to finish my bag :D) And our cats get Christmas cards from their "auntie" (my big sis :rotfl:)

Jailhousebabe. The next ones I'm gonna try doing straight on the pc. Wish me luck.
craftygranny - I've got everything crossed for you hope it all goes well. (and lino on the walls )
Popkins - you bad girl :T hope you have great fun with your Pink Cuttlebug.
Giggle what about baby bottles, dummies, storks, nappies, teddy bears, rattles - or something like this
