rainmac - sounds like a perfect weekend!
rusty - your food looked lovely, hope your OH enjoyed his Valentine treat.
NEGirl - thank you for the link! I've bookmarked it for when I have some cash.I love the cards on your blog, I have a thing for birds too, but haven't used any on cards for a long time.
Gemma - I'm so jealous of your sewing machine.I think cards with stitching on look lovely, and yours is fab. Is it any trickier sewing through card/paper?
Ali b - lovely cards on your blog, I can't believe you've got Mother's Day sorted already!
Jazabelle - I agree with choccy, the surface you stamp on can make a difference. I tend to use either a mousemat or the cutting side of my craft mat, it really does help.
Was it Tomsmum or TSL who gave the tip on standing to stamp? Whoever it was, thank you!! I tried it the other day and got perfect results every time with my new FF stamps - I normally get at least a couple of fails with wooden mounted stamps.some people grin and bear it, others smile and do it0 -
Hi everyone you all sound like a friendly bunch. I have the basics for card making but i need some inspiration. I did a card making course and whilst I was doing it got some really good ideas. Think Ive got card makers block. If thats the correct term. I didnt even do a valentines for my boyfriend. Would love some hint/tips/ideas/inspiration.
happy crafting

Hi jojododd. I often find the best inspiration comes from blog-hopping. Lots of us here have links to our blogs under our user names, and lots of times we refer to other blogs from our own. Many card-making sites also have galleries that can provide good ideas. Be warned though - when you look at cards you often end up thinking "I could do that, but I need to buy x, y,z in order to make it"!some people grin and bear it, others smile and do it0

Ooh, thank you - I will look out for one!Jaz, not sure if you know what to do with your Versamark stamp pad - if not here is a link to different things you can do. In the past I've stamped a dark coloured card with a butterfly stamp and Versamark, it gave a lovely background of butterflies a slightly different colour to the original card.
You might get on really well with the rocker, I've seen it demonstrated and it could well be easier for you as you wont need to put pressure in the middle of the stamp like you do with a normal block.
As for a silver or gold, have a look at Brilliance , dries without heat setting if you don't want to emboss. Or you could stamp with your Versamark and use gold or silver embossing powder.
Thank you! I will have a look at the Brilliance range, but I do hope to emboss soon. As soon as I can get to Argos I'm going to get their heat tool, which comes with some powders as well.
Thanks for the link - lots of ideas there!jaz - I have a silver Ink it up pad that I got really cheap in the Creative Craft World Bargain section. I must admit I have not done a lot of stamping with it but the bit I have has been fine. Only just realised after earlier postings on here that it is actually meant for embossing but you can still stamp with it - just make sure you allow plenty of drying time.
I will have a look out for Ink it up - thank you!"There is no medicine like hope, no incentive so great, and no tonic so powerful as expectation of something better tomorrow." - Orison Swett Marden0 -

Yes, I've been standing up as well! I have just ordered a stamping pad, so hopefully that will solve it.
I remember it being Tomsmum, but I have problems with my memory, so sorry if it wasn't!"There is no medicine like hope, no incentive so great, and no tonic so powerful as expectation of something better tomorrow." - Orison Swett Marden0 -
PepPop - your digi stamp is amazing - you certainly are talented - I am absolutely useless at drawing.
Popkins - I agree - you are naughty - but I like it too!!!!!
Louby-Lou-Lou - your chocolates look so yummy and I love your triangle box!!! Your valentine's day card is fab too, and I love your cookies - especially the woman and the man ones!!!
Rusty - your table looks so pretty all set up and I love the look of your key lime pie - I've never tasted it myself.
Rainmac - sounds like you've had a lovely weekend - I'm so glad you mentioned your OH's birthday 'cos its just jogged my memory to ring my Mum - its her birthday today!!!
NEGirl - as always your cards are stunning - I placed an order at my cute stamps a few weeks ago - I can't wait for them to arrive. I ordered the bird cage set too!!!!
JoJododd - welcome to the thread!!! I agree with Jailhousebabe - blogs are perfect for inspiration!!
Gemm - your bag is gorgeous - and your card is so pretty!! I got a sewing machine for xmas from my Mum so that I could sew my cards - I still haven't got the hang of it yet!!!!
Ali - fab cards - my favourite is your tree one - I love the patterned paper that you've used!0 -
PepPop - love your digi stamp, you're very clever
Helping Hubby - I hated 25, it seemed like a landmark in my life (1/4 of a century gone and nothing much achieved), dreaded 30, but it turned out to be the best period in my life (I knew who I was, what I wanted and was confident enough to get what and where I wanted), and life just gets better now I'm in my 40's.
The Wife - I will have a good look for the free stamp ( had a hetic weekend, so didn't get a chance to look today).
Rusty - would it be ok for me to join your order? I fully understand if you'd rather not as I've not been on this thread for long.
ali.b - I've got a bigshot and had a couple of dies that didn't cut cleanly. I was tempted to email Sizzix about it, but have rectifyed it by putting a shim under the cutting plate.
I've been checking out blogs and commenting on all the lovely makes as I go along (some of you have a new stalker!!), so sorry if I don't mention them individually on here. I blogged earlier, but it wasn't a card.
Off to look for that football digi stamp - I'm on a mission now!!!0 -

Of course, please anyone who wants to come in on the group buy then please do so. I am going to leave the thread running for a few more days to get a general idea.
I'm not doing it for any kind of personal gain I am just trying to keep prices down for everyone
Gemm - Silly question but could you try some paint on the handle or the base of your cuttlebug? I don't see why you couldn't spray it?
Rainmac - sounds like you had a lovely weekend! happy belated birthday to your OH. xxx

Ooooh I'm all excited about the stash and ATC swaps :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
It's still decorating central here!!!
I was very sensible and instead of the spendy elves buying the MS punches on QVC they bought me a steam wallpaper stripper :A Well the first layers came off no probs and then I hit the underneath layers - OMG I'd like to get my hands the people who originally decorated in this house  I think they put the paper on with superglue :mad::mad:
One wall done - three walls and the ceiling to go - doesn't sound much if I say it quickly - grrrr!!!
Hugs to all, Thriftyxxx0
