  • Ct - so glad you had such a lovely birthday and:j CONGRATULATIONS:j on your new job - it sounds perfect.

Been doing the school stuff most of today! My friend who is the co cahir came round after lunch and we've been at it all afternoon - she's coming back tonight:eek: I'll photograph the results tonight - don't want to touch anything after tonight for the rest of the weekend (apart from my new fairy stamps which are still not unwrapped properly!)
  • Gosh, so much to catch up on over the last couple of days! Apologies in advance if I miss anyone out. :p

mad-frog - I love your cards, especially the image of the man on the train!
Tomsmum - great 40th card for your daughter, I especially like how you've tied the ribbon on the tag.
sunshine - thanks for the link to the cupcake tutorial, they look good enough to eat.
Rusty - well done to Maddison. :) Thanks for the links to the freebies, and for your cake pictures (even thought they make me hungry!). I love your Me to You bear cards.
Glittermum - how long do you have to make all the goodies up? I don't envy you! Great news on getting LO into the school you wanted, it must be a relief.
Giggle - Your teabag cards are great, lovely and colourful.
CraftyJuJu - your cakes look scrummy, I'm sure your OH will be impressed.
The-Wife - Happy Birthday! I hope you've had a lovely day. :) Your granddaughters card is fabulous, the spots and stripes work really well together.
Sunrise - Great cards, the photo frame on the new home card is a novel idea.
PepPop - do share your homemade digi stamp. :D
Bunbun - I hope you can make it to the NEC.
Skiergirl - I hope you feel better soon. I know what you mean about your stash being messier than ever, I always seem to make more mess when I try to clear things up!
CT19720 - DD loves her new job, thanks for asking. Everyone is really friendly there. Congratulations on your new job - what a bonus that you get more time to craft. ;)

some people grin and bear it, others smile and do it :)

    Hi everyone,

I've been lurking for a while and trying to get some hints/tips, as I am a total beginner!!

Could you recommend any sites for total beginners?? How did you start??

    Thanks :D

    Hi Claireac

    Welcome to the thread :j

The best bit of advice that I was given when I first started was to read and look around and find a style of card that I really liked - I fell in love with this ladies work and it all took off - it is soooo addictive :rotfl:

Two places where I first shopped were

Craft Superstore and The Glitter Pot

I never found a "beginner's site" but everyone on here is so helpful.

    Take care, Thriftyxxx
  • I've finshed my card for Delia and posted it on my blog. Please feel free to offer any advice or tips as I'm still on the steep learning slope.

I'm off to catch up with this thread (just praying that's there's not another 6 pages waiting for me). Then going to blog hop for a while.
  • Hmm...Sorry for jumping in and out of this, I'm finding it hard to keep up!

I seem to be spending a fortune on acrylic covers for my bind it all, and wondered if there is anything else I could use for the same type of effect?

I'm on the glitterpot dribbling over the new cat and dog stamps...so tempting!
    Signature down for maintenance :rotfl:
  • OK - think I've caught up - phew another epic read:D

    Happy birthday The Wife

Congrats CT on your new job.

Well done Glittermum - PTA members are stars, hope parents at your school appreciate you.

Sorry not to mention everyone else by name, but I really am struggling to keep up! There are some lovely makes on here as always. Especially loving the teabag cards, they are stunning and are going on my list of things to make. I've tried to comment on everyones blogs, but will do a full blog hop tomorrow when I'm not so tired.
  • So disappointed - I had made up my mind to get the MS Scoring Board from Michaels today. Printed off my voucher and caught the bus there and they didn't have it. They don't appear to stock it as they didn't really know what I meant!! Will have to see if there is another Michaels anywhere close by!!!!

whereabouts in the USA are you if you don't mind me asking? I'm so jealous of you being able to go to micheals anytime you want! I went to Washington last October and we went to a micheals in Virginia, was so huge I spent so long in there my OH was getting really bored :rotfl: I'm eyeing up one of those ms scoring boards too!
