  • You're welcome Jazabelle - I don't really do cute fairies (much!) but just adore those ones - and so cheap!

Please could someone leave a TSV for me please? There's no way I can stay up till midnight!

Crafty Ju Ju - I love your sock dinosaur too - I must have a nosy round and see if I can find some instructions - my boys would love one.
  • thriftyscotslass - hope it goes well the decorating :) I'm halfway through re-decorating our kitchen & clearing all the cupboards out...then its on to the bathroom! I know I'll never have a clutter free home especially with 2 young children but it would be nice to have a little less or for it to be a little more organinsed! :DI can keep dreaming! lol

I saw a few people ask about electronic cutting machines so thought i'd chip in!

The Silhouette is actually the Craft Robo but rebadged by Quickutz. With Quickutz you can download images to cut on their website for a small fee and these items will only work with their machine.

The Craft Robo comes with the Craft Robo Design master software which means you can create your own designs and die cut fonts and dingbats.

The Cricut takes cartridges which of course are not available on the Robo's..but you can only cut what's on the cartidge you've got and they're pricey but licensed exclusive images such as Disney characters etc. BUT.. there is now a hack for the Cricut called SCAL (sir cuts a lot) which turns it into a robo so you CAN now make your own designs and cut them out.

There is price to factor in as well. How many embellishments and die cut papers could you buy for the price of one of these machines? Will you ever use it enough to justify the price.

I was in Shrewsbury QVC Outlet the other day and they had the Silhouette for something stupid like 146 pounds with an extra 25% off ontop of that which made it very cheap indeed!

  • Rusty - sorry to hear that your pain is coming back

CraftyGranny - great news about both Carly & Alicia

My Gran's operation went well but then since her lung has collapsed and her kidney failed then she got an infection over the weekend. Everytime she seems to be getting better she suddenly deterioratesn so at the moment it feels like one step forward two steps back.

I've made a Valentine card for my boyfriend, which is on my blog . I also received my Little Musings canvas that i'm giving him! It's brilliant and well worth the money. Pictures also on my blog http://leialegweak.blogspot.com/...

Hi PLM My DH has just bought me the Silhouette SD (a belated Christmas gift) Its all still very new to me but I'm loving it!!

I have a Cuttlebug and wanted to buy more nesties and a couple of alphabets, and more than likely it won't stop there, so taking all this into consideration the cost of the machine was worth it. I am lucky enough to have a craft room so it does stay out on my desk. I have to admit it is more fiddly than using the bug so I have tended to do lots at once. I have been sat tonight resizing shapes and flowers ready to cut tomorrow. Once I have created my own file of "cuts" it should make things easier.

This was my first attempt at making a card with it

My DH thinks its fantastic too so thats a bonus :D

    Hey Flourgirl :)

I've had the Robo for about 2 years now and I love her.. yes that's right.. HER! :p So we're your rivals (even though I work for Quickutz.. shhh don't tell them!!) I love cutting out dingbats from www.dafont.com and browsing the free templates on www.ukscrappers.co.uk You will have to let me know when you make some stuff so I can take a look. I haven't cut anything in ages and I feel guilty that she thinks I don't love her anymore...

    QVC TSV survival Kit

Just putting together the checklist for tonight/tomorrow's TSV on QVX

    Here goes then:

Coffee in a flask ~ to help keep me awake
Matchsticks ~ to keep the eyes open
Kendal Mint Cake ~ for energy
Credit Card ~ to spend, spend, spend
10p for the lekkie meter ~ in case it goes out
Tea towel ~to stuff into gob 'cos OH is asleep and getting up early.
Plaster ~ for when the head hits the keyboard, too far gone

    Have I missed anything?

    :think::think:

    :rotfl:I LOVE it!!

    Don't forget:

Mobile phone ~ GOT to have a back up incase the website ordering goes down
QVC Membership number ~ Well HELLO.. We already got it memorised?:j

    In seriousness,
Keep a notepad next to you or use the one on your pc.. to make notes as you watch. I love to quickly draw things down or ideas that come to me as i'm watching. Also, the amount of people i've seen buy things and then later say 'can anyone remember what you did with this' :D
