Thanks Rusty. I saw last week that freebie was coming up and promptly forgot about it so thanks for the reminder.
Hope your appt goes well and they can sort your pain out.
JailhouseBabe On another forum I visit, a few years ago when unmounted stamps became popular, lots of the girls on there started to de-mount their rubber stamps from the original wooden blocks, mainly because it took up much less room to store them. I can't remember now how they did it but if I can find out I'll let you know. I tried it with one which I bought from the QVC outlet shop and I found when I got home that it had been mounted a bit wonky. As it was 60 miles back to the shop I wasn't going to make the journey, and it was well reduced anyway, so I very carefully and slowly just peeled it off the block. They probably don't all come off that easily!0 -
Jailhousebabe I found what I was looking for about rubber stamps. If you're interested in de-mounting your rubber stamps then you can pop your wood mounted stamp in the microwave  for about 10 seconds and it will melt the glue enough for the stamp to be peeled off. If you're going to try it then do it first with a stamp you're not that keen on :rotfl: . If I was doing it I'd start on a low heat rather than 100% but I'm very cautious
.
You can then use the image on an acrylic block. You will probably need to use something like Pritt Stick glue or another repositionable glue to temporarily mount them onto the block when you want to use them, or even DST.0 -
Hi all, just having a quick catch up on my lunch break - 3 pages !!!!
Anyway, going back to ink pads just realised that 1 of my pads that I bought reduced on line (silver) is a pigment one, havent used it yet and wondered can you still do ordinary stamping with it or do you have to heat emboss it - just I havent got any embossing things???0 -
I'm nothing to do with Creative Craft World
I just didn't like the bright pink they used to have so I offered them a brand new logo and background out of the goodness of my photoshopping heart.
I'll try and get some work on the blog today but I cant make any promises when I need to get some rest for Martha tonight haha!!:xmastree:Self Certified Christmas Addict:xmastree:0 -
You can do ordinary stamping with a pigment ink pad but it's perfect for embossing because the ink stays wetter for longer so make sure you give it longer to dry:xmastree:Self Certified Christmas Addict:xmastree:0

I didn't read the original conversation, but I visited Creative Craft World and thought how pretty it looked!"There is no medicine like hope, no incentive so great, and no tonic so powerful as expectation of something better tomorrow." - Orison Swett Marden0 -
Can you emboss stamps that you don't colour in? Like I have some fairies that are silhouettes, but not sure how the embossing works with that?JailhouseBabe wrote: »Jazabelle - I really struggled with my stamping. I started off with wooden mounted stamps and couldn't get on with them; then I tried clear stamps on a flat acrylic block and didn't have much success there either. I then bought this to use instead of a flat block, and the results were miraculous!
Ooh, I saw those and thought they looked good! I'm glad to hear your experience with them.
I am thinking of driving out to a craft shop today, but I'm not sure I can cope with a shop entirely full of craft items! I think I would just stand and flail, then buy everything."There is no medicine like hope, no incentive so great, and no tonic so powerful as expectation of something better tomorrow." - Orison Swett Marden0 -
Thanks for the kind words Jazabelle
You can emboss anything as long as you have a good wet ink to hold the powderJust give it a go and you'll soon be hooked.

Rusty - what were you going to the hospital for? I missed it.
I would love to go to a craft thing like the NEC or one in London, but I can only be on my feet a few minutes (I'm disabled). I also can't travel far. About 20 minutes driving is my limit.
I just googled and they do wheelchairs and scooters.
Mobility Equipment Hire Service
For exhibitions at The NEC, our service partner, Bartram’s operate a mobility equipment hire service. We strongly advise visitors to pre book equipment to avoid disappointment. Bartram’s operate a telephone booking line Monday to Friday 0900hrs-1700hrs on 01353 778756. Visitor can also book via Bartram’s website http://www.bartrams.net. For any visitors who have not pre booked equipment and arrive on the day, any remaining stock will be issued on a first- come, first-served basis. Manual wheelchairs are free of charge to blue badge holders, £5 per day to other visitors. Electric scooters are £15 per day for all visitors. This is a non-refundable scheme. As Bartram’s location varies from show to show, please check collection point when making a booking.
I think it's pretty disgusting they are charging £15 for a scooter though. It's £2 in my town!"There is no medicine like hope, no incentive so great, and no tonic so powerful as expectation of something better tomorrow." - Orison Swett Marden0
