Two threads all because a pint of milk has gone off

Why do people feel the overwhelming need to post on a forum before just taking the pint of milk and going back to the shop with it and getting your money back.

I'd go the whole hog if I were you and write to Sir Terry for compensation for the amount of time taken to type about this and getting your money back, I thought you were boycotting M&S after your daily queuing for the 1p bazaar?
Chatty I did not feel an overwhelming need but consulted mse as people on here are more expert on consumer affairs in taking things back and would be likely to be able to assist..

Also I did not know there was a thread for consumer issues as I only ever frequent old style and freebies boards.Once i found out there was a consumer board that is where I posted my query.

It took me 30 seconds to type my posts as I am a highly qualified and experienced typist fyi.

I really dont think any petty remarks about an unrelated genuine customer grievance I had with M&S are called for particularly when your trawling of the archives seems to have overlooked the fact that I posted that this genuine (and fully warranted according to the store management) issue was resolved.

You seem also to spend a great deal of time on here criticising other peoples posts and dilemmas. There are long lists of your posts all using the rolleyes emoticon.Perhaps not the most constructive use of your time when people have genuine queries such as regarding the health and safety of their children.

Esqui it is entirely for this reason I consulted MSErs before going to Tesco...

But to be fair, supermarkets will ALWAYS exchange fresh produce/goods that go off before their use date. It happens.

I think it is because people get so used to being pushed around by big companies. If someone feels the need for a bit of support before taking a complaint forward, I am in favour

  • I can't see any problem with you obtaining refund from Tesco, the majority of people probably wouldn't bother, which means Tesco make a very nice profit from selling food that isn't fit for human consumption, and begs the question of how reliable are their use by dates?

I've had a couple of problems this month with fresh meat from Tesco which has been refrigerated quickly after purchase and turned a nasty grey colour a couple of days before the use by date. The more people that complain about this problem, the more likely Tesco will be forced to actually sell the fresh items they promise.

A 'use by' date is not a 'fresh until' date.
  • Dairy and meat products carry the risk of Listeria, and Ecoli, if it smells or looks odd it should not be chanced. A use by date would indicate to any right minded person that the product remains fresh and edible without risk until that time.

No. It indicates the date after which the product should not be used at all. You cannot extrapolate 'Use Until' from 'Use By'.
  • If anything wannaberichbtch, you should take comfort in the fact that they are selling something so natural it can just turn.
  • OK call me picky if you like, but I would prefer not to have to burn meat to a cinder for it to be edible within a use by date, perhaps Tesco could add this to their cooking instructions to avoid confusion.
