Just sitting here feeling sorry for myself today - had a viewer around to view the house - unfortunately LL is selling the flat- we don't want to move as have only been here 14 months :( and it will be expensive - credit checks, agreement fees, overlapping rent/ctax, check out/in fees :( only in our last house 9 months as was horrid so really want to settle down and before that was at uni so moved all the time.
No job - lost my job by being managed out - yeah I know - about 3 months ago and nothing around apart from a few (and I mean a few shop jobs) - I just can't bring myself to apply for them.
The only thing I do is pilates and that is at 6pm so I would have to give that up for the part time job I have seen advertised (which I don't particularly want).
I don't go out anywhere - the docs or tesco's is my major excitement.
    Partner works all day.
Money is running out and I don't expect OH to pay for everything as job centre says I am not entitled to anything after Sep.
Job seekeers runs out in October but where we will be living who knows.
Can't get through to a place to do volunteering and can't face even going to Tesco's today :(.
Also am one a waiting list to do an accounts course at the college 2nd on waiting list but will cost 350 pounds which is a lot and I'm scared I will run out of money completeley and rely on my OH. :(
That's about it. No hobbies, no job, house being sold, only entertainment is MSE really. :(.

DF - AAT is an excellent option for studying...

this is a good website for free materials to get you started and keep you interested....
    http://www.opentuition.com/aat/index.php

Also try writing to accountancy firms in the area. They may be training accountants and you could possibly get an apprenticeship in AAT

I am somewhat disappointed in my Mars Bars...they are 'medium' bars (which means small in my book). However, I do have [STRIKE]ten[/STRIKE][STRIKE]eight[/STRIKE]six left! so musn't be too churlish.....

Had a 20 min power nap - feel a bit better now...but must still go to bed early tonight...

    Thanks everyone for your comments.
bookseller - it's something I've sort of thought about but got no further with- I'm sort of 50:50 at the moment. I'm just not really sure.
With regards to help from the jobcentre - I only get jobseekers for 6 months I think after that my partner is supposed to pay for everything according to the jobcentre/government.
Have already looked into rent help/ctax help and OH earns too much. Apparently.
Have spoken to the jobcentre but they couldn't help. Not sure if it's becuase I have a degree and I don't think I've been unemployed long enough either? Basically I think it's what Ames said although there is a course thing I think I can go on for help with cv's etc I think but I think the problem is no jobs to apply for to be honest.
Louise with regards to the course it is a bookeeping certificate OCR.
After that I think I can go on to study AAT I think - it was more to dip my toe in and see if I like it really and see if it's worth progressing with. Ideally I'd like to get a job and get sponsered to do AAT or something like that - or pensions or payroll qualifications.
I can do some courses through Pitmans but I think I would do better on a course - hence signing up for the college course.
There's also a sage course but I thought it might work better to do the principals first before using a computerised package as I think it would help me to have an understanding of what the software does rather than I just press this button and this one. IYSWIM.
Pooky - thank's for the thing about renting. I should probably ask on there. Everyone I've spoken to -selling agent, letting agent/managing agent we are with and both parents have all independently said we should be given 2 months notice - either by out Landlord if he wants us out sooner or by solicitors when contracts are exchanged - at the moment we are just at the viewing stage. so I'm trying not to worry too much but maybe I'll wander over to the housing/renting board as well.
Also noticed the college have a scheme for unemployed people to do courses - so will call them tomorrow - they didn't answer just now so maybe have gone home early as it's the holidays. Am not expecting much help as I have a degree and haven't been unemployed that long (realtively speaking) but will definitely phone and enquire.
I hope that's answered everyone's points - if not point it out and I will try to. Thanks for all the help. I am feeling much better now. Just got to keep going I think.

DF - you are right to get the basics before going on a Sage course....otherwise you are just pressing buttons...

If its basic understanding you want - also on the same website is this - http://www.opentuition.com/afna/index.php - accounting for non accountants....useful background info....

Just another thought if you are near Norwich (or London I think) my friend has a degree in maths (and music) and worked for NorwichUnion straight out of Uni without experience and now shes an actuary on pretty serious money - the pay is rubbish to start with but you dont need to be an accountant as its more calculating stats and that...
