            OMG really :eek::eek:
 That terrifies me - Uni should be about exploring concepts - essays and projects are merely ways of expressing the research you have done in the library - not a re-stating of whats in one particular course book!!
 You couldnt get a 1st grade (70%+) at my uni if you didnt show original expression of thought (or whatever the term is)
 I am in the middle of a OU course and I dont like it at all. To me it seems all they want you to do is re-write the text book to show you undertand. Thankfully I was funded to do the course (due to a small income) as if I would have payed I would have been dissapointed. I have one assignment left before the final assignment so its not long now although I very much doubt I will be doing any more. Shame though as its an easier way to learn and complete courses.0

            Hey PAP, it's a pity they feel so dumbed down. The courses for my degree are so interesting but it doesn't feel like degree-level texts so I get really frustrated by it - another reason I'm considering going back to brick uni.No longer using this account for new posts from 20130

            BB - Well done :T When do you start?
 Next Monday :eek:
 I have decided that because this is probably going to be the last time I work part time and when I'm doing all hours in the office and teaching I'll look back and sigh whistfully about afternoons at home (even though I work from home). So I've decided to throw caution to the wind and just do nothing work related Wed/Thu/Fri on AQA so in effect have the next 3 afternoons 'off' before I go full time.
 I haven't worked full time in an office for years, it's going to be a hell of a shock to the system _pale_ "Stay Wonky":D "Stay Wonky":D

Now,as the last job interview I had was 1985,can anyone give me any tips for updating my CV etc...??Am even thinking of working as Cabin crew part time for Easyjet....Debt-free...and staying that way...0

            I'd say the mos important things I've always found are:
 keeping it to one page if you can
 tailoring what you write to every job you apply for - by all means have the standard quals bit but above that the skills profile should match most of what they ask for in the job - if that means a bit of 'creative accounting' then thats fine - they can always ask you to explain them more in depth at interview 0 0

            Have to say, I'm going to have to stay with Toto more often - I won £5 on the free daily scratch card yesterday using her lappy - I was so chuffed! "Stay Wonky":D "Stay Wonky":D

            I hate CVs, I much prefer application forms
 My dream job has come up, I really hope I have enough qualifications/experience to apply *crosses everything*No longer using this account for new posts from 20130

            Isnt that funny - I much prefer CVs and covering letters...
 To me application forms are about a company looking for someone who ticks a box, cvs are about looking for someone to take on, conquer and expand a role for the mutual benefit of the company and person...
 Oh and good luck!!!0
