Have subscrived to your thread so will keep checking in.
In the meantime 2 others little tips you can start straight away. Start a spending diary - find yourself a little notebook/or very small diary and put it in your handbag. Then start recording every single thing you buy, whether its 50p on a drink, £20 on petrol or £60 on new shoes! This will become really useful in working out where your money is going and keeping the impulse spends in check.
2nd tip - if you don't already use internet banking then get this set up. Call your bank or pop into the branch to find out how. Once you have it you'll find its easy to use and then you'll have much better control of your finances. (usually they have to send something in the post to activate the account so the sooner you set this up the better).A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -
Also if things are tight have a look at what food you have in the house and meal plan so you don't spend extra money on food when there are meal at home. I used to be terrible at this! It's amazing what you can find when you look!

You will find so much support and genuinely helpful advice here that you will get addicted to coming on here and looking for messages!
The best way to check for replies to your message is to 'subscribe to to the thread'
1) Go the green bar at the top of your original message and click on where it says 'Thread Tools'
2) Click on where it says 'subscribe to this thread'
3) Then click on 'add subscription' (you can select to get emails when people reply if you like)
Then next time you log into the forum go to the green bar along the top again and click on 'User CP'
Then on the menu down the left hand side click on 'list subscriptions' and you should see the link to your message. This way you can go straight to this message without having to search for it.
I hope that didn't sound complicated...it will make sense when you're doing it!!
Like the others said, post your statement of affairs and you will soon be inundated with help and advice!

Sorry one more thing....
With practically everybody I know.....when something negative is happening in their lives or they have done something stupid (no matter what age) the worst thing always seems to be telling your Mum! This is because you know they care so much and will worry.
But, when you actually do it, everything seems slightly less stressful. I'm sure your Mum would be much happier to share in your troubles than to be kept in the dark

Hi flamingobroke. Just remember on here you are never alone as there are loads of peeps who are in debt and as Shakespeare put it "A fellow feeling makes us wonderous kind"
Once you have put up your SOA then we can help you cut back.
