Thank you for this the BBC goodfood website has loads of ideas and cheers for the idea about chuctney. Although my lack of cooking skills prevent me from actually havin a go i did heat some blackberries up and add them to some tesco value stuff we had which just tasted for pure vinegar so now it tastes more palitable at least!

i picked a load from the country lanes in my area and made some gorgeous jam in my breadmaker, so easy!

    300g blackberries
    300g jam sugar
    3 tablespoons lemon juice

    delish.

I've also just made some blackberry oaty bars, the recipe came in the free Asda mag that you get by the til. I made them yesterday and put them in the fridge and just tried them now and they are TO DIE FOR!!!!! don't eat them til the following day though as they are 100 times better the next day.

get a square tin, about 17cm by 25cm, grease it or if non stick then line and grease.

    225g plain flour
    200g porridge oats
    250g butter, chilled
    175g caster sugar
100g pecans (I used almonds though as that's all I had in the cupboard and they turned out gorgeous)
    300g blackberries

preheat oven to 170/180c (fan oven)
put the flour oats and butter (chopped into small squares) into a big bowl and rub together then stir in the sugar and nuts.

spread 2/3 of mixture into tin and press down gently, then spread the blackberries evenly over the mixture, then pur the rest of the mixture on top and press down lightly. Stick it in the oven for about 40 mins then mark out into squares but leave til completely cold before removing from tin.

Best served after being in the fridge overnight night, OMG are they gorgeous, really moist and tasty!!!!!!!! :0)

p.s. i offered the guy next door a slice but he has a nut allergy however he gave me some pears from his tree just now, so i might give him a jar of jam instead.
